Free agents refuse to sign?

I just finished my first season and my free agents refuse to sign including my made up player. Any help please?

Try increasing the length of the contract.

well, the cpu is a bit strange according to the free agents, also when you're champion, sometimes your best player doesn't want to resign!

It's a problem with Franchise Mode, players deciding to re-sign is still a little too random, despite the deciding factors being in your favour.

What shits me is that you can't offer a player more money like in Madden and have a better chance of resigning. You have toput up with the fixed value that NBA Live Franchise puts on you.

there are 2 ways around this 1. Edit your DBF file (takes to long) or 2 save your game before you go to exit playoffs then if any 1 doesnt want to resign then just load it back up and c if thay changed there minds lol 9 times out of 10 thay will sign back up

just have to deal with it. things like that do happen. even if you play them well, as fickle-minded as humans are, they might not want to sitgn again with any team.

history:

abdul-jabbar (then lew alcindor) was drafted by milwaukee, and he was their main man. he even gave them a championship. but eventually he wanted out, and got traded to the lakers.

barkley has always known to be a sixer. he has said that even though he got into the finals with the suns, he still would want to be remembered as a sixer. but it was he who wanted to be traded, despite bein their premiere franchise player.

stoudamire was drafted hoping he was goin to be the franchise player for the raptors. and he did. but he got traded.

and wasnt MVP Kidd traded for that Marbury guy? tell me he wasn;t good yet then.



NBA is such an unpredictable business. just put it that way.

Easier said then done if your best player rated in the 90's refuses to sign. Your franchise is pretty much screwed. Free agents aren't going to save you.

Yes, I've seldom been able to sign a big name free agent, even when I've had money to burn. Getting a couple of decent free agents and trading for them is the best non-cheating way to go, though removes some of the intended challenge of Franchise Mode.

Live should get a free agent signing like madden where it allows u to bid for a player and they highest bidder got the player...and also its too often that in a season i clear cap room to sign a big free agent and no one signs at all..in the nba nearly anyone would go for a max contract

Yes, replacing the scaling contract size (determined by player age/skill and length of contract) with the ability to make an offer would be a great idea.

I guess like alot of you, I was shoked to see that like Madden you couldn't bid or ever raise the amount of money you could pay them, only the years.

I wouldn't say I was overly shocked, as I knew that element would be the same as Live 2000-2002, but I'd certainly like to see improvements in that area in future Lives, which from the interviews I believe will be the focus in future Lives (improvements to Franchise Mode).
