NBA 2k18 Cyber Face Lookup & Mod Assign Tool

Hello All!
I'm new on this site and pretty new to NBA 2K18 on PC as well. I recently got a gaming PC just to play 2k18 and use Mods. And I am enjoying. I've learned a lot about Modding and mainly Cyber Faces. One cool thing TGsoGood provided was an Excel sheet of all cyber face IDs and who they are assigned to. Much appreciated to him!

I've taken this a step further. I have used his excel sheet and imported the data into a database, just with the Cyber Face ID (the face file name) and the player's full name. And created a small program/tool to easily took up Cyber Faces by searching by the player's name and also looking up which Cyber Face IDs are not being used to assign them to Mods you have downloaded. I still have some testing to do on this, but it is basically 90% finished.

So looking at the screenshots.


This is the main Home page
On the top we havce File -> Exit to close the program
Then Full List, and View All Open Slots/Assign

On this home page we have a player name search field, for this example I searched the keyword "James" so every player that has "James" in their name appears with their Cyber Face ID, you can just type the players whole name, or first, or last, however you want. This is a easy lookup for any players cyber face you are looking for.


Next is the Full List.

This is basically what TGsoGood gave us. All the cyber face IDs plus the player name.
What the Assign button is used for, is modifing the player name on a face ID to better keep track of your mods. I'll explain this more in a bit.


Next is the View All Open Slots/Assign

Now this is what I think is something that I think will be really helpful. I have downloaded countless Mods, such as Lamelo Ball, Bol Bol, Ayton, Luka, etc. Some mods you download, the file name has an XXXX, which means you assign the face, this pages table shows all the Cyber face IDs that have a "?" or "Fictional" or "Non-2k generic"

So lets say you downloaded a Modded Lebron James face, if the creator didnt assign a cyber face, and you still want to keep the Original Lebron face. Select one from the list, and hit the Assign Button. This will help you keep track of which mods you have downloaded and who's face they are.


The assign Button works the same on the Full list page.

Like you want to replace a player on the list etc. Just put it on that page just in case. But I feel the best use is on the View All Open.


It's a database tool, keep track of which mod is which players face, and easy lookup.
I have more plans to expand this to keep track of ALL Mods, such as Courts, Scoreboards, etc. Havent detailed it all out yet.

You just have to drag the Shortcut to your desktop and open that. Should automatically take you to the main screen which has the search player option

Hey guys if anyone is getting the side by side configuration error message, hold tight I’m trying to fix it and will re-upload. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Ok everybody, I updated the file, use the same download link, the folder name is 2k18.zip, when you unzip that, the application name is 2K18CBFLookUp, create a shortcut of that and drag to your desktop and you should be set. Let me know if the same side by side error message occurs again. Also I will try to do a tutorial video of this because some have asked how exactly to use it. Re-read the OP too to better understand in the meantime.

Also just a PS.
It doesnt assign the CBF in 2k game itself, you still gotta put it your mod iff files in your modded folder like usual and use either Limnono or CE to assign faces to players, the main point of this is to keep track which CBF belongs to which player and easily look it up.

Not to take anything away from this because new creations for 2k modding are always great but if it doesn't assign cyberface ID's then how is this better than just keeping an excel spreadsheet? That's what I currently do for my draft class and roster projects. I was under the impression that this would circumvent the use of Limono and make it easier to assign cyberfaces. Regardless, thanks for your hard work and best of luck,

I already have multiple ideas for using this. I hope you plan to stick around for 2K19. Having a tool like this early on will be a huge help to others. For now thanks for what you have done.
