"semi classic" 90-91 MyLeague Roster Released

Hey Guys!

*** I have uploaded my roster ***

Roster name is: BigDaddyCheese

It isn't 100% complete. There are 2-3 teams (that aren't the Raptors, Pelicans, Grizzlies) that only have 1-2 players. There are another 3-4 teams that have the main 6-8 guys. Other rosters are full. Sorry, not sure when I will get back to this roster but would love feedback. Thanks!

I am currently working on a Myleague roster for myself, but will gladly release it when I am done if people want. I want to play myleauge from the late 80s or early 90s and go through the years. I have found that the 90-91 season was easiest for me to start with given the teams already included or within a season or two.

THIS WILL NOT BE TO THE LEVEL OF SOME MODDERS. I am hoping someone picks up where I leave off and finishes it, because I don't know how. For example, I am getting rid of player portraits outside of a handful that are already in the game. I know Dee4Three would prefer to see those. I just don't have time for that many. I just need to scratch the itch, but not lose interest like I did in the nba 2k14 project (gosh that is awesome too). I am just trying to get a ballpark/accurate looking cyberfaces and attributes. I'll review tendencies over time as well.

If you see a major change that needs to take place, feel free to leave feedback here. I am sure I will make a backup center that chucks threes with a 35 attribute because I forgot to change his tendencies which was Steph Curry's. I am also still learning how those impact gameplay, etc. Do they even matter for simulated season games?

If a retro roster for nba 2k17 already exists in the late 80s or 90s would someone please save me the trouble and tell me where that is?!

Here is what I am asking help with:

1) Are there are any good jerseys for the early 90s that are like short 80s shorts? For now, I am just using modern day uniforms since most of the teams I am replacing are all-time teams. it also allows for all numbers to be un-retired. If someone has a link to a file that I can just downloan and add to MOD folder and change the uniform in CE that would be great.

2) Anyone have courts from that era? For now, I am using modern day.

3) Does anyone PLEASE have a good Reggie Miller I can use? He is one guy I am really missing. Don't really want to create a player and have him named Mr. Clutch or something stupid.

4) Anyone have a good Kenny Walker-look like suggestion? Jaylen Brown is closest example I can think of, but his skin tone is much darker. I'm okay with it, because the haircut is key. Or, does someone know how to just change the haircut on the current player to Jaylen Browns? Can I do this using the CE player editor?

I have my young Reggie Miller face Ill share if I can find it. It's ET Voids texture with my face sculpting. It will give you something for now.

I think if his hair was covering a tad bit more of his head, it would be an outstanding Miller.

Can someone explain to me how I can assign retro jerseys in the game to teams as their default jerseys? I don't understand how to do that in CE yet. For most of these teams I am replacing the all-time teams for a variety of reason I'll go into later. I wanted to assign some of the jerseys that are already in-game to these teams as their default jerseys. Same with the already populated jerseys for the 91 Bulls, etc.

Also, does anyone know how to modify shorts length?

just get a copy of one of the classic shorts models and rename it to replace current shorts and throw it in the modded folder.

Some classic shorts (Bulls96 Orland95 Hawks89 Nugets95 94Houston...) can change current uniform by renaming files.
But some classic shorts(93Horenets 91Lakers 95Heat...) can't change current uniform by renaming file.

No worries! I was just debating about releasing my 1991 season mod at some point. It isn't nearly 100% though or even 80%. However, it may scratch the itch for some. I used regular teams and replaced them with 91 rosters as best I could. I initially used all players that are in game and changed attributes, etc. I haven't even tried using retro courts or jerseys (this gets out of my area of know-how).

most teams have the main 8-9 guys and then I filled most of those rosters with accurate players, bio, and best guess on ratings. However, some of the user faces are generic. I then deleted all FA outside of a handful of John Smith's in the game. When starting myleauge the game fills rosters with better names than the default roster names that came with retro teams.

You could just use the in game rebrand system to make jerseys and courts.

I did. I haven't gone much further than my other post. Guess I could still upload it. I'll do it in a bit.

Ok - I uploaded my work thus far. It isn't complete like I said previously. I have a couple of teams that aren't done (Nuggets, Rockets, "Thunder", Timberwolves, and Bullets). Rockets have the main 7-8 guys I think. Thunder have 6-7 guys and the others have 2-3. I will chip away at this some more soon and update when I do.

Raptors, Pelicans, etc are left blank since they didn't exist. When you start a myleague the PC will sign the nobodies as FA and retire after a year in myleague. I think they also fill rosters with generated names too so its less boring. I guess those games should be considered "sim games". I also did a best guess on contracts based on today's value and extended teams out that kept players (like MJ on a 5 year deal for example).

The other thing I did and love about 2k18, is I included a couple of euro-stashed guys. Kukoc, Dino Radja, and Sabonis. I know Sabonis was like 5+ years about from 91, but 3 is the max. These guys get really good quickly, so that's why they are like in the 60s on the roster and develop quickly each year until they enter the league. Sometimes the make overall jumps of 7-9 a year. I THINK I have these guys more accurate now.

Would love some feedback, please! I know a few teams still need finished up too. Would love to do portraits and all that, but shesh that could take years hahaha!

If people feel like it is a good start I will continue to fill out rosters and then go double check tendencies for everyone.

Also, for the most part the better the team was, the more time I spent trying to fill out rosters. FYI. That is why some of them have nobody. When I was going to start a myleague with celtics, I wasn't too worried about who was on the nuggets roster.

It's a really promising start! I especially like that you've got foreign players like Kukoc and Radja Euro-stashed, so they'll be able to come into the league later on. That's a great idea.

Like you said though, there's still a lot of gaps in the teams so it's not currently suitable for a Myleague. I've only had a really quick glance through the roster, but it looks like some of the ratings could use some tweaking. Larry Bird for instance is rated like 97 or something, where in reality he was near the end of his career in 90-91 and plagued by chronic back problems, so adjusting his ratings to bring him down to the 85-90 overall range would be more accurate. It's a promising start though, so hope you keep it going.

I’ll go back and adjust everyone too and fill out the rosters. Guess I can Use 2k14 retro for a starting point and tweak from there.

1) I will have a small update released tomorrow. Mainly updating Bird as he is too high (along with a few others), badges for all players as those are way off (sorry I thought I did all this already but I didn't).

2) Hopefully a little later this week I can update some player models or at least find better replacements for the generic ones in there.

3) Does anyone know how to fix the above Reggie Miller from Dee4three? The 1640 ID is Wayne Ellington's in the game, but if I drop Dee's in the modded folder Reggie Miller still looks like Wayne.

4) I will go and update some tendencies for players and fill out some of the others (Rockets, Nuggets, etc.).
