NBA 2K18 Limnono Modifier Virus

Hello everyone. When i download Limnono Modifier for NBA 2K18 and try to open it, a virus alert pops out. I deactivated my anti-virus and tried to install the modifier but it seems it truly have a trojan virus. Pc just go crazy and some programms are installed automatically. Malware at its finest. Can anybody help me so i can download and run the modifier without harming my pc?

the versions from this thread (viewtopic.php?f=237&t=104104) are 100% virus-free. i use them myself

I downloaded it from this thread and it's 100% trojan virus.. what should i do? any other link?

The versions from the thread menten linked do not contain any viruses. That should also be the case for any version directly provided by Limnono.

Are you sure you haven't downloaded and ran another executable by mistake around the same time you download the modifier? Maybe something that got downloaded while you tried to fight through pop-up ads from an invasive link-shortener when you downloaded a mod?

When i click download, a .zip file named nba_2k18_limnono_modifier-c0-66d.zip is downloaded. When i open it, inside there is another .zip file with the same name and when i open this one there is an .exe file named nba_2k18_limnono_modifier-c0-66d.exe

This is the malware. If i install it, so that i can get the Limnono Modifier then, malware programms are installed automatically in my pc.

All downloads on that thread are named "NBA 2K18 Limnono Modifier [DATE].rar" and contain a folder inside name "NBA 2K18 Limnono Modifier" with two .txt files and the modifier's executable inside. The executable is not an installer; it automatically runs the modifier.

If I have to guess, I'd say that you had malware affecting your PC beforehand that is redirecting you towards installing more malware that's covered up by using the original name of files you choose to download. Could be even a malicious browser extension and limited to hijacking certain file extensions, like .rar or .zip.

Same thing different name. Instead of c0-66d at the end sais a8-79a (microsoft edge)

Check all your browser extensions to see if there isn't anything shady active there. If there isn't, i advise you to follow this malware removal guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/co ... val_guide/

In case you're still experience malware signs after that, I'd also recommend running Kaspersky's TDSSKiller and then Adlice's RogueKiller as a last resort, as the latter is more intended for power-users, since it allows complete user control over how to handle detections, many of which aren't really harmful to the computer.

You could also run the TronScript linked under "Helpful Tools" at the bottom of the main post on the link I provided and nothing else. It's very effective and automated; it just takes several hours to be completed.

I doubt you "did it all", especially run TronScript. I see on your screenshot that you have another download ending with the same "c0-66d", so it's definitely something along the lines of what I mentioned. Even if someone were to reupload the modifier for you, you still would need to download it somehow, and it would likely turn into a malware on your end too.
