In addition to all of the above links, here are more notable tips.
-For aspiring roster creators be sure to follow @2K_Rosters on twitter. They are providing a great avenue to connect to resources that will help you with building and creating rosters.
Here is a link to the Spreadsheet to various rosters for different console platforms (Spreadsheet is a work in progress) Add this to your favorites within your browser
Link: NBA 2K Rosters Custom Project Spreadsheet **Important
(PC Projects will be listed on the 3rd tab of the above spreadsheet, but all platforms included)

-If you want a reference list for the in game options for staff faces, here is a link to a thread on operation sports that help you when trying to find a look alike or face option for your staff

-There are several Cheat engine tables floating around the internet (Check Limnono trainer thread for chinese cheat table)/ (Check Mr. GoldGiver's youtube for MyCareer related cheat table)
As always these cheat table may only work with old instances of the .exe so be sure to back up your .exe files so that you will be able to use these tables after patches come through.
**Do not use this thread to request hacks for mycareer online, try things out for yourself but note you will likely get reported or banned when trying to use cheat engine to gain unfair advantages online.

Might be a bit early to create this thread... we're nearly two months away from release and all we have from the game are a couple of screenshots

As long as the save files are the same format it is basicly a guarantee I will be releasing mods in the 1st week.

Here is a list of modding progress I am making on my own right now:

-Exporting MyLeague rosters (complete with rebranded team info, jerseys, logos, and stadiums). This will carry over to 2K18 unless they change the save file structure and formats.

-uploading mods to 2k share. This is already possible and will carry over unless 2K share is significantly altered or taken away.

-getting 3d models from past 2Ks to become visible in other installments of the game. I have already had small success getting an invisible model from 2K16 to show up in 2k17.

So even 2 months before the game drops I am already preparing. In addition to above, I am increasing my knowledge of cheat engine so that I can swap cyberfaces on day 1 as well as do other things.

My plan is to release my All Time Teams Roster and Ultimate Fantasy Draft Roster within the first 2 weeks.

Rumour has it that they will be switching to a new (Unreal?) Engine in either 2019 or 2020.

The Engine right now seems pretty terrible for Modding compared to 2K14 and prior.

Likely since that's probably around when the new consoles will come out

if the jersey is sort of animated than last year. Meaning you guys can adjust some players arms and it wouldn't look like floating jerseys.

Sorry for my Poor english

New Consoles? Didn't the Peasants just get a new PS4.1 and a XBONEX? I doubt they will be happy if they are getting asked another 500€ ontop of their Pay-Online Tax, they already have to pay.

Unreal has Visual Concepts as a Dev who uses UE4, so its confirmed. They are developing something with UE4 and I doubt they have time to do any other Games.

Wait, you're saying that because VC uses UE4 that it means that it's confirmed that 2K will use it? That's quite the leap.

Ok so some news actually related to modding progress an not the the game engine conversation above.... I should have a method to swap cyber faces on day one.
I made sure I knew how to find the faces in 2K16 and 2K17, it should work for 2K18 also.

Also for roster makers/ draft class makers, if we have the created player(s) file again next year. It will will be vital that you use that to create any player or prospect.
Do not create them outside of Create-A-Player. There is a very important reason for this. Again this info is for roster makers and draft class creators on PC. Console is a different story as their are more limited.

Hi All,

- Net Physics

Looking at some 2k18 screens seems like I don't need to fix arena light this is year which is a great news (Y)

I hope they go back to the pre-2K17 jersey texture layout.

Even though it would be better, it would fuck me over because of all the jerseys I made last year. I'll have to convert everything.

Then we wont be able to edit single texture :)

Just a bit of info for those who are unaware, you can use cheat engine to create a real trainer. Just an FYI for those willing to put in the work to learn. This will likely be my only mention of this.

For more info just search youtube and google on the subject.

Are there any particular suggestions for taking modding to another level? Any general ideas about areas that have yet to really be explored through modding?

So much progress was made in 2K17, I would like to revisit some ideas from the 2K14 days of modding. Animation mods, exploring audio files such as the name database, and more. While we may not be able to get as far as we would like to push, we must remember that it only takes 1 person to really play around with files and research to make a break through.

I would like to dive in deep in Myleague. For example, things like being able to edit stats (current/past), rewards, team records,etc... Something like Reditor in 2k14

Im new to the PC world (1 year so far) but I wouldn't mind learning how to modd or find out different aspects about the game if someone could point me in the right direction.

-We found a way to get accurate Rookie draft data into the roster but it would be nice to edit current/ past stats and awards for retro rosters.

I personally want to create a cyberface ID list, a portrait ID list, a signature ID list, and a list of players HoF players and culturally relevant players that are completely missing from the game.

-A few people will likely try to tack these lists.

We can use my CF ID list as a base and just clean it up. New CF ID's for the new players (Like dreads Bosh) will need to be added. This year, we should also add coaches to that list, and usable CF ID's that we can overwrite.

A court ID list should be added to the same thread.

A question about the sections I'll be adding to the Downloads database in the not too distant future: should we bring back the Rosters section?

I'm guessing the situation with encrypted saves isn't going to change, which means we can't upload saves the way we used to. However, when adding files, we could still link to the release thread which contains information about the roster to search for and download, as well as download links for any related assets that are needed. That way, we've still got listings for roster mods in the Downloads section, they just won't be directly downloadable like they were before the PC version was exclusive to Steam.

After reading many impressions of the new CAP system, I may be able to mod some of the CAP headshapes. Can't confirm until the game is released but it appears the sculpting capabilities have been removed from Create a player.

I am a fan of bringing back the rosters section. I am in favor.
