Yes, I received the PM but sending a reply there when we all have full inboxes is kind of just a hassle lol. While most awareness ratings I completely agree, I do have a recommendation for the Potential ratings.

IF Peak Start > Age

Potential = Overall + (Peak Start - Age)

IF Peak Start < Age < Peak End

Potential = Overall

IF Peak End < Age

Potential = Overall - (Age - Peak End)

For example, an 84 Overall player who is 20 years old with a Peak Start of 26 years old should have a 90 Potential. Based on simulations, this creates a very gradual increase/decrease in players where they don't suddenly increase in potential.

How to get the Overall without manually counting it? Start an Association mode with the roster, then save the file without doing anything. Open the Association save file in RED MC and go to the Skills section of the Players tab, the Overall_I will have the Overall value. From there you can perform the Excel rituals you need lol. While I'm not saying this is exactly what to do with Potential, I do recommend that you try it. With that, you can tweak the Peak values instead for better manipulation.


I like that idea. Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to open association files in RED. Would someone be willing to do this? I can give very simple instructions if necessary. It would be a great help.

How many rosters are there for this? I'll try it if I have the time. Maybe you can send me the rosters in a pack and I'll send you a spreadsheet of only the Potential ratings already adjusted. Also, I definitely agree with editing the Off & Def Awareness attributes to manipulate the overalls just for more control in game modes such as MyCareer, etc.

PM me your email address and I'll send you the roster files. It'll probably be tomorrow or maybe Thursday. I have to paste the edits into the 2k14 roster files. It takes about 3 minutes per roster file but there are 32 files, I think.

Med, I really appreciate you offering to do this if you have the time. That's awesome.

Hey Sko,

Just realized you were not labeled a contributor on here. I didn't realize that. It's just a title on here, everybody knows and appreciates the work that you do.

I wanted to tell you that I personally truly appreciate the work you have put forward for the community with the URB. It's a lot of work to stay organized with this stuff, supply updates, etc. The URB and UBR is what got me hooked onto PC 2k and modding in general.

Thanks again for the permissions for certain things for the newer 2k's. We have been making a lot of progress over there, maybe someday a URB/UBR will happen.

Offtopic UR Basketball. Any advance in cyberfaces edition (in 2k17) similar to 2k14 (clone from AV map, etc). ?? Or only way is change headship, hair ...

Ask in the modding progress section on NBA 2K17 releases and previews. I can't answer your question, but many in that thread can.

Whats inside


- NEW 2017 Roster , ALL new players with real cfs, ALL with portraits

- Updated all official contracts/extensions

- All current and new contracts have been edited to reflect this year's salary cap, thx slimm (Y)

- Last trades included

- Removed a lot of retired FAs

- New courts, all made by mikeowhen - thx you my brother :applaud:

- New rookies cf, all made by Monzki & Maravich - both guys ROCKS! When ever i need your help you always respond, one more time BIG THX. :applaud:
- Gameplay and ratings update from lazy slimm : i think its MASSIVE UPDATE for the gameplay & ratings. We are talking about 15k players guys!!!


- In short, every single player in the entire project has been updated to reflect realistic play style in game play and results in the simulation engine. Every single player is completely unique.
- Every single statistical rating and tendency is based off of actual statistics.
- All players have been updated to one of two types:
- Career Type – Statistical ratings and tendencies were calculated based off career statistics.
- Versions Type – Statistical ratings and tendencies were calculated based off periods of time in the player's career where output was similar. For most of these players, there are three periods...the early years, the prime years, and the aging years. Some players have more versions than others ie Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan.
- Speed and quickness ranges have been expanded slightly for all positions.
- Speed, quickness, and vertical ratings decline as the player ages as well as after significant injuries.
- Offensive awareness, defensive awareness, consistency, and potential ratings have been edited based on player ability instead of statistical information. This produces overall ratings that are more in-line with 2k's standard ratings. These ratings also raise as the player moves closer to their prime and decrease after their prime.
- Stamina has been updated for all players based with the lowest rating being 80. This will improve game play as well as simulation stats.
- Play types have been updated for every player and are based off of statistics and position.
- Playbooks have been edited and contain only working plays for all play types. Previously, there were Isolation plays where the CPU ball handler would stand still when the isolation play was finished which basically broke the play. Those plays were removed and only working isolation plays were added.
- Play initiator has been updated for every player based off of statistics and position.
- Go to 3pt line has been updated for every player based off of statistics.
- Drive the lane, pull up, attack the basket, pass out, fadeaway, spin jumper, stepback jumper, and dribbling tendencies have been udpated for every player.
- Post tendencies and post shot tendencies have been updated for every player based on tendencies and position.
- Signature skills have been updated and are based off specific statistics where applicable and are only given to players who averaged at least 20 minutes per game.
- Catch and shoot signature skill and deadeye signature skill have been removed because they break game play by causing the defender to deny the passing lane which prohibits that player from receiving passes during called plays by the AI.

Hey, guys, a quick note...I made some versions for players I was aware of that had made significant changes to their games this season...James Harden, Greek Freak, Jabari Parker, Steven Adams, Andrew Harrison, and a few others. There have been a few players mentioned to Sko as being off, ie Marreese Speights. If you notice guys from the 2016 or 2017 roster that seem off, please let me know and I will update them. I already fixed Speights and Demarcus Cousins. I will update these players as I am notified of them as I hear of them. The next time I comb through the roster to see which other players need versions for this season and to update more of this year's rookies to be more accurate will be around the all-star break.
