D43 - CLASSIC COURTS



Hi all,

This is a celebration of classic NBA courts. These are courts I converted from the URB, Skoadam gave me permission to use these courts as a base, and so did Retroman. Skoadam made a comment to me that sticks out, he said "Anything for Retro". You folks know me pretty well now, and I am ALL ABOUT the retro. One thing that 2K should do for upcoming games is retro court options for the regular teams. They already have retro jerseys, why not courts?. The courts you see below will overwrite the current teams court, if you want to remove it, just take it out of your modded folder. These courts will be amazing for my UFDRD43 roster, as it will add some more retro style to your games, it will also be great for Myteam, because when you choose a court on MyTeam, or get one, you will be able to play on these classic courts.

The long term goal is to have a couple classic court choices for each team in the league. Note: These courts are not to be used in rosters that are released without my permission, therefore, If somebody creates a roster and shares it, and uses one of these courts without permission, this thread will no longer be updated and the courts will be removed. This also means it's not okay to share these courts on a roster on 2kshare while merely dropping a "Created by" line, this is also not okay. So please respect the work, and enjoy!!!

YOU WILL NEED

The external plugin. TBM's thread is listed below so you can download. You may already have this. This is what gives you the "Modded Folder". Place the contents of the external plugin in your main NBA 2K17 directory, and place the court you download in the modded folder... and that's it!

Nice courts Dee, however I think the 1997 Hornets Court has a 50 Year anniversary logo as well, and the size of the Charlotte Coliseum on the baseline is wrong:

Messing around using the 96-97 Rockets court with UFDRD43. The first couple moves I pull off with Olajuwon are classic. This video is just to show you the court in action.

Thanks, I can try and add it later. I am going to keep it as is right now.

I'll try to do atleast one or two for every team eventually.

UPDATE: Updated the Hornets court to include corrected baselines, and an NBA at 50 logo comparable to the video above

Just updated the first post with the 07-08 Celtics FInals Court.

Only major thing I would change is the Rockets wood texture. I have always hated that texture with a passion ever since 2K started using it.

I agree that the texture is not ideal. But I think it still looks solid for a conversion. I actually had to piece that court together, including the wood/and all the other art.

If I get time in the future I'll revisit the wood texture.

Just updated the first post with the 96-97 Hawks Court. Again, I converted this from the URB, and adjusted the contrast/saturation in areas where it needed it.

I agree. They look so cool in game. With the conversions, it really is about adjusting the brightness/contrast though. Put in as straight conversions they are really bright.

Yeah, I actually have the 07-08 Celtics court ready for conversion (The regular one). Ill post it soon.

Downloading these old school courts won't overwrite the current ones will they?

I've always liked that Hawks branding. I know the branding they had from the 80s up until 1995 was quite popular, and they've obviously gone back to a similar design with their latest re-branding, but that late 90s look really stood out.
