GPU Panel Scaling

So on my Intel HD i have this wonderful option "Customize Aspect Ratio"...does somebody know if nVidia or AMD GPU control panel allows the same?

I know many people don't care but I do :-( and I want to be sure I have it on my future GPU...

A big thanks in advance

Nvidia contorl panel allows for creation of custom resolutions that aren't native to your monitor. I'm currently running 1920x1080 on both my 19" and 16" (i think) monitors. It may not look as good but it can be done. Depends on what will work for your monitor really.

As for AMD there's also a way to create a custom resolution but I'm not familiar with it.

You want to run the game at at 21:9 or something on a 16:9 screen? Absolutely possible with an nvidia card.

It's not a custom resolution It's more like custom aspect ratio:

Basically resolution is always 1920 x 1200 but the ratio is more compressed and I have black bars below....

I dunno if this is possible with nVidia.....

Another question: can I keep my intel HD onboard graphics and GTX 1060 ASUS 6gb (on my desktop PC) with just one monitor and have nVidia to be activated when power is needed?

On my laptop with "Optimus" technology I have this option....

Can LucidLogix Virtu be a solution?

I have ASUS H170 PRO MB + i5 6600 3.3Ghz + GTX 1060 Asus

LucidLogix Virtu is not a good solution H170....can this below be a good solution?

- Set Custom Resolution like: 1920x817 (2,35:1)
- Set Scaling:none

I think that's the same and I will get black bars on the bottom/up of my monitor

Agree?

Nvidia can do the same using its control panel. the custom resolutions aren't locked to any kind of aspect ratio. it basically allows you to create your own ratio actually.
try this video. since you have an nvidia card this can help you create that custom resolution you want without using any third party software. It's a tutorial how to create custom resolutions.

as for using the GTX 1060 only during certain situations I doubt you can do that. And i'm just curious, why do you want to use the onboard graphics despite having a discrete graphics card?;
oh and why do you want the custom aspect ratio? when and where do the black lines show up?

I love the idea to have GPU OFF during desktop app and ON during gaming..that's all :o
