MyCAREER question

One question for those who already tests the game and maybe played The Prelude:
So the Career is started from this year's draft. The question is when the team is drafted you whether the real rookie that was originally drafted this year by the team is also in the roster or he goes elsewhere? The last time when there were MC draft (in 2K14 I guess) originally drafted rookie was in the team also.
I want to create C and try to win the ring with the current young Lakers. But this will be not that good without Ingram. If Justice (or what is the name of Jordan's character) will move Huertas or Calderon from the rotation then I can live with this.

If originally drafted rookie goes elsewhere then there are 3 ways for me:
1. play for the team that drafts me
2. go down to the early 2nd round and try to be 40th pick instead of Zubac
3. ask for a trade to the LAL but then it will be some different team without players that gone through the trade.

If I recall correctly, 2K16 had the same system: you get drafted along with the "real" rookie.

2K15 circumvented this by having you not being drafted (which was smart, "beggar to king" and I really liked it).

Ok so I am answering on my question by myself. Yes originally drafted rookie is in the team and it's a good news. Bad news is that with me in the team also comes 2 guards J.Young and Denver Whatever-his-last-name-is that are also guaranteed in rotation (10 an 5 mins respectively). After my test MC I created new Paint Protector C and spent all my 100K VC to upgrade him (he became 85 ovl). After few games in college I was Top3 projected and decided to mess up 1 game a bit because I want to be 2nd pick not 1st. Instead of game with 20 pts and 5 rebs it was the game with 10+ pts, 8 Rebs, 3 or 4 assists etc. This the only one game drops my projection from Top3 to Lottery Pick
Finally I was picked by Wolves and it looks like pretty promising starting 5:
PG Dunn
SG LaVin
SF Wiggins
PF Garnett
C Towns
With potential that KAT can be moved to PF and I can be starting C
But there is a big BUT!!!
The active bench is (after Rubio's injury):
Dieng - C-PF
J.Hill - C
Aldrich - C
Me - C
J.Young - PG
Denver - PG
Pekovich - C
In small-ball era we are playing with 7 Cs in rotation

Well, when playing the Timberwolves in MyGM, one of the priorities is to trade one of the C, i don't know if its related or not, but hopefully, in MC T-Wolves will try to trade one of the C. Garnett would retire after the first season, and Dieng contract is gonna expire in the first season. Without Dieng and Garnett, the roster for your second season would be pretty flexible.

Is there any way to change my jumpshot 2 games into mycareer? I see some unlocked animations that I cannot choose for some reason.

I've been able to change my jumpshot that early, though admittedly I did it while in 2K Pro-Am. I don't think there's any restrictions in place in MyCAREER either, however.

Really? There's no button that allows for it in the NBA Animations store. No button I press on the gamepad allows me to select the "OWNED" animations to equip them.

It seems like you have to scroll through them this year, with any animations/accessories you own being available in the toggle.

This is going to sound like a broken record because I have complained about this every single year since 2k10. It is utter nonsense to start a player at a 55 rating and hyping him as the next big thing. The only way to earn VC is to play on Hall of Fame mode. And on HOF mode, I cannot do a single DAMN thing. My last stats? 20 min, 1 pt, 1 reb, 3 turnovers 0/6 FG. Schooled by Goran Dragic. Goran Freaking Dragic. I get why 2k is doing this - they want you to be so frustrated with the game that you end up tossing $100 their way to buy their freaking VC. It's complete bs. Every year, I leave behind about 150k vc that I cannot carry over and gets wasted. Additionally, every year, you only get to max out 1 mycareer player type. 2 at best. I've never tried SF or SG or PF. So much of the game is unexplored because of their greed for micro transactions.

Really utterly frustrated. I've had the game 5 days and the only thing I've been doing is trying to grind myplayer up. I won't be enjoying this damned game until December. YMCA players are better than me at this point. I'm a #7 draft? Don't make me laugh.

This year animations doesn't applied in the store. You should buy it there and then go to MyPlayer appearances (or something like that, I'm on my work now. It's the menu where you changing shoes, clothes, anomations for MyPARK and NBA\Pro-AM separately) menu and change it there.

Completely agree. Like I said, I did drop some money on VC because I didn't want to deal with the frustration in MyCAREER or 2K Pro-Am, but having said that, I don't like or endorse the practice.

This year animations doesn't applied in the store. You should buy it there and then go to MyPlayer appearances (or something like that, I'm on my work now. It's the menu where you changing shoes, clothes, anomations for MyPARK and NBA\Pro-AM separately) menu and change it there.
