Players not looking at the ball?

Postby C89KF on Tue Aug 31, 2004 7:16 pm

I dunno if this was posted before.

But umm....did any source say something about players not looking at the ball when someone is attacking the basket? In ESPN2K5 all players on the court look at the players when someone is shooting, driving etc. But in NBA Live 2005 players don't watch the ball, they look at the players they are guarding.

I haven't heard anything about that at all, nor have I given it that much thought. Is it that serious?

during gameplay, you probably won't notice that much, but it'll make replays and screenshots look MUCH more realistic.

Someone already mentioned that this has not been fixed, as yet.

Look at the screens from Live 2005 & you'll see that this has not been corrected as yet.

We can keep that for the 2006 Wishlist. (Y)

actually if you think about it..in reality.

.during a game,i'll be soo into the game..that i don't watch the ball as it goes into the basket, when a player is trying to score..cuz in high school, you turn your back on your defender to "watch the ball"..you'll get beat to the basket..so i can look as it as,the players are so much in to the game(<for live)...and then i can look at it as the players are really lazy, and only care about offense(<for ESPN)

Players look at the ball would be very cool and bring up the realism, but gameplay goes before everything like this.

Speaking from experience as a basketball player, as long as the players use their peripheral vision to watch both their man and the ball, then it's the most realistic way. Until the ball has been shot by the opponment, boxing out remains a priority before watching for a potential rebound.
