ABL 1976 - Fictional League Mod

[Culture Games]

As some of you know, there is a mystery mod project going on behind the scenes. It's not so much that its a mystery at this point, but I genuinely do not know what we are calling it yet. For many months, Myself and some others have been working on a fictional mod that takes place in the 1970's.

We are going for real cyberfaces, along with unique uniforms, courts, logos, everything. If you like All Pro Football, or Blitz: The League, think of this like the basketball version of that.

200+ players [NO GENERIC FACES]

-I paid close attention to tendencies, animations, and ratings to make the players play realistic to how they would for the era. I didn't just lower ratings, I tried to make each player unique and play with their own styles, strengths & weaknesses.

-Sliders and Coach profiles that will go with the spirit of the mod

-No trace of anything NBA. No NBA jerseys, team names, coaches, players, courts, etc. All record books and stats have been erased. This is basketball, not NBA.

-Custom Soundtrack

i just realized you said there will be no actual players in this. you sure you dont want somewhere around 30 actual players sprinkled in for intrigue? could make it alot more interesting and help flesh out the individual playing style of the teams with 1-2 actual stars per team and the rest fictional no-bodies.

The teams will come pre-assembled, but obviously you can use any of the 2K features to Fantasy Draft the rosters, or rearrange them how you want. You can "Draft" your player to one of the teams.

It's fictional mod, not a "fantasy" mod, and so it takes place in a specific time period. The league will have stars, average players, and scrubs. There may be several real life NBA/ABA players from the time period, but 95% of it will be fictional. It's not going to be just randomized teams of 50 rated players with generic faces dont worry.

Edit: in reference to the fantasy vs fiction i like the idea of most of the players being fictional. I just wanted some of the big names that we already know mixed in there too. So we can have like our own player playing alongside one or two names we know and 10 or so we dont. Add a bit a familiarity to each of the teams. Also thought it might be cool if the people who put themselves in the roster were each a team captain and got to pick from the player pool for the initial roster to be released to everyone to build an identity for each team. But i understand if that'd be very time consuming and inconvienent.
Last thing, if you don't include Coffee Black in this roster i will be sorely disappointed in you. Not anyone else from that movie, just him.
