I am a long time retro NBA fan, writing here after some years since my last access. HAWK’s UBR for NBA 2K12 provided me lots of hours of retro fun so far, and I really could not ask for more; recently I have noted your outstanding job, so I decided to buy an NBA 2K14 just to have it… But unfortunately I am having big issues:

1) First I downloaded the UBR retro parts 1-16 + part 17 + part 18 + rosters + scoreboards. The game runs, but many team logos in the quick game menu, rosters, schedule (season/dynasty mode) are incorrect (instead of the correct ones, I have fictional logos…!! It seems that only 2K ones from the original game are correct). In addition, there are only few portraits in the rosters (again, it seems that only 2K ones from the original game are there) and some of them are completely wrong (instead of Shawn Kemp portrait, I have a portrait of an Asian kid… ). No custom shoes, and the scoreboard had black numbers for points… but the game plays ok (having played just a couple of games, I have noted some minor mistakes i.e. Christian Laettner has got black arms, TR Dunn has no face and arms etc.). I have uninstalled and then repeated the whole process, with the same results

2) Then I tried to download every single part from 1 to 18, rosters and scoreboards. This time, the game crashes to desktop as soon as you push start on the loading screen!!

So Skoadam, could you please check this issue?? I am pretty sure that I have done the correct process, so I am wondering whether any of you guys from this forum, installing a fresh game and then THIS LATEST version of the mod, are having the same problem…

PS: I have also tried to add just part 5 for portraits to 1-6 pak + 17 + 18, just as you have suggested to another user in your 2k13 thread which had the same problem, but no changes at all.

fabri79, it sounds like you're either missing parts or installing them in the improper order. I can almost assure it is a problem on your end. Hopefully sko can direct you to proper installation order. Try re-downloading. None of those issues are present with proper download and install.

problem is on your end

you can't use just retro parts (1-18) and only few from current (1-6). for retro mods you MUST USE ALL parts from BOTH current and retro parts. first install all 18 retro parts, then 9 current parts. and of course roster files. it is all written in the first page under installation instructions, people just need to read:

nothing is missing in the mod, no crashes at all. it's tuned to perfection!

First of all why youre screaming. Madball already explain what you did wrong. But i also see that you made something wrong with retro parts. Example is TR Dunn. You said he is headless. But i see his cf in 1-16 parts package. You said Laettner with black arms, but i see his fixed arms in 1-16 parts package.

Like i said earlier. This is your plan.

1. Check what you did wrong
2. Later check it one more time
3. Do it again
4. and again
5. start thinking about reporting issues

Why? because im loosing my time on checking things which are correct, that way im one step away from ignoring any reports.

Thank you very much for your answer, I will now try to download files for current rosters as well... Anyway I have read the instructions of course: indeed, quoting from MadBall message:

Download all zip parts if you are interested in using all rosters(current and retros)

I understand that I have to download current AND retro files if I am interested in using both... I haven't downloaded current rosters so far because I wasn't interested in using them.
Furthermore, in Shoadam's page you can read:

"All necessary art files for all retro rosters in 18 parts"

It seemed to me pretty much clear, that is why I didn't think to download the other parts... let's now see what happens!

3. Download all zip parts if you are interested in using all rosters(current and retros), unzip, copy/paste/overwrite all files from all zip parts into main game folder. Start from 1-18 retro files, later paste all files from 1-9 parts for current roster and REMEMBER last files must be pasted from part9 only for NBA 2K14. If you want to use ONLY current 2015/16 roster, download all parts for current roster(1-9parts). Paste all files in order, so start from part1, part2,part3 and REMEMBER last files must be pasted from part9 only for 2k14. You cant use only retro parts. For NCAA rosters you must download URB NCAA Files and paste them into main game folder.

Is there any sentence where i confirm that you can use only retro parts. Current and retro/ only current. I dont see any sentence with ONLY RETRO.

This is your mod so if you don't give a shit about a player it's fine with me but reality is that this guy actually has better stats than a lot of other NBA players right now and deserves to be on the Nets roster.
I personally don't give a shit about the Nets but you have to be realistic. I'm pretty sure his stats will decrease over time but hey you want your roster to be realistic and complete. The guy also signed a multi year
contract.

He's played 16 minutes per game over 20 games as a backup for the Nets, the 2nd worst team in the NBA. Even if we did create this guy (and I SERIOUSLY doubt we will), he hasn't even played enough time to have accurate statistical ratings and tendencies. He's played 300 total minutes. He is not signed to a multi-year deal, he signed a 1-year, 129K contract. In his last 12 games, he's averaged 14 points in 22 minutes per game with two rebounds and less than an assist. He's shot the ball well and that's about it.

Feel free to create him on your own if it makes the game more realistic in you. However, DO NOT come in here and start telling Sko or me what we have to do.

What are you talking about? I never asked for missing players, other people did. I was replying because i was suprised somebody with the best mod
in the entire NBA community reacts in a negative way when other people are posting the names of missing players. Maybe those people only want
to make the roster better or complete. But again, i did not ask for anything. I gave my opinion about somebody else's request for Kilpatrick.

I will explain you why i react like this but it should be clear after slimm answer. In all retro rosters we are missing 200 other players similar to fitzpatrick and? Is this mean that rosters are not realistic? he will land in dleague after this summer or he will be 13-15 spot player. He is playing right now only because of injuries and brooklyn clearing salary cap. If i will be still here and fitzpatrick will stay in nba i will create him in october. For now i suggest to use other rosters with all players available. Great t hear that you have good opiniom about urb.

I can completely understand your vision about the 13-15 spot players. Back in the days i did a lot of roster editing for the old PES games and people were always asking for another youth player. But I do understand people who do have interest in 13-15 spot players and sometimes it's not
clear if a player is more than that. But again, your mod is the best with or without those players. Personally i'm not even using the 2015-2016 roster.

Sorry maybe u have already posted about this...Do HD faces make this mod crashing during match? I have some made by Rockprince, i.e. 8MB Kobe...it is too much? Why crashing? (just curious)
