Lots of good news from this interview.

I think the rookie/sophmore game and all star game will both be really fun for a change of pace during the dynasty season. Self alley oops! That sounds amazing.

It's also nice to see that it says more after whistle cutscenes to show player emotion. Sounds like a nice added touch to the gameplay.

that's what i'm talking about, allyoops off the backboard in the rookie game, that's awesome! I wonder if you'll be able to do that in a regular game, i think it would be to hard to do where u could only do it in an all-star game. I hope they include it in all the games, it sounds incredible! I wonder what he means about having "authentic" courts this year, what will be different with the authentic ones and the regular ones? I can't wait for this game, sega really needs to step it up this year to compete will all of that :)

thats some good info, but hopefully we'll be able to pull of self alley-oops in 5on5 aswell because it's happened a few times.

Authentic courts means real arenas as the ones in the real life. Like Lakers' Staples Center, Jazzs' Delta Center etc... Those arenas look the same as the ones in the real life. Lots of them are in NBA Live 2004, if you take a look carefully around the court, you will see that the arenas are different from each other. However, in 2004 they were not able to get licenses of some arenas like Conseco Fieldhouse Arena (Pacers) and FleetCenter (Celtics), and they probably didn't have time to make some real arenas like Toyota Center (Rockets). In the videos released so far, you can see that they already have Toyota Center and Conseco Fieldhouse, and plus one metioned in the interview: FedEx Forum for the Grizzlies. In the video released recently the Celtics' home court is still marked as Celtics Arena, so i guess they still don't have the license for FleetCenter.

But in Dynasty mode the all-star game will be different....no fast pace, arcade-style gameplay. EA said that it would have changed your sliders in order to do so, so during dynasty it will be more like other season games.

The arcade style is only for when you play the all-star game as a standalone game mode.

I can't remember where I read it, but it was at least in a couple of reviews/interviews. I'm sure about it 100%.

The reason they gave, as I said, it's that putting a fast-paced all-star game in dynasty would have messed up your sliders setting in the dynasty and they didn't want to do that.

Honestly, I wouldnt have minded it. I could easily reset my sliders after that. But that's the choice they made.

true, but can you do the alleys and stuff like in the other 1 or will that only be possible from the main menu also?
Thanks again

Well couldn't you just change your sliders to "arcade" settings. I remember last year there was a sim and arcade slider setting and my sliders were under sim. Why can't we just change it over to arcade for those 2 games?

I'm tired of previews. I had enough of previews viewing the video's, reading Shane & DANet's reviews & reading the first interview.

Whatever is new in this years version has been spoken about repeatedly just using different approaches to the same questions.

I'm just too hyped up about the game to really care for previews anymore. I'm all preview maxed out.

"There's a ton of them in the 3 Point Shootout and some are also present in regular games. Unfortunately we couldn't add as many as we would've like because there simply isn't enough RAM available."

He's right, I think PS2 has something like 4 Megs or something pitiful like that. But there is on the PC, Come on, give us PC'ers something special! :D

Thu Aug 26, 2004 6:01 am

Maybe we can check out the sliders in the all-star game mode, copy them and when it's time to play the all-star weekend in dynasty we can set our sliders to have a fast-pace game.

The only thing I'm not sure about, is if it is just a matter of sliders or there is something more, built in the code, that we cannot change.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. :(

Thu Aug 26, 2004 6:04 am

I agree with the foo Jackal.

It are all different reviews, but they all are saying the same story, and some sites do it more fancy then the others. From now on I will not read any previews, so wake me up when they get new vids and pics.

btw, looks good that even bums get their tattoos done.

"Having Slider Profiles" is in my own wishlist before anything of 2005 announced.

But most likely it would not be in 2005.
If we can set up different sliders into different profiles,
than it will be very convenient to switch between different kinds of game.

Fri Aug 27, 2004 10:22 am

Well if the game needs to change your sliders for fast paced all star games, hopefully in Dynasty mode thats all we have to do to get a fun arcade like allstar game.
