The moment they re-signed Brooks, door was shut for him... The Brazilian guy's contract is not guaranteed so there's still some possibilities they'll pick-up someone...

Baron Davis is making a comeback do you think the Bulls would throw him a camp invite?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 23, 2015 8:40 pm

I reckon they're set at the PG spot but you never know since they pick-up the likes of Rip Hamilton and Nazr Mohammed in the past...

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I guess it wouldn't hurt to see what he's capable of. I don't think they should be in a rush to sign him or be offering up a guaranteed contract, or anything, but I wouldn't hate the signing. I just wouldn't have any real expectations, either. I imagine if they want to sign another point guard, they'll take a chance on a younger player (perhaps a D-Leaguer) trying to latch on somewhere.

Id rather them just give Moore a shot as the backup pg. he's a better defender than brooks and is a mild threat to score. I think the Bulls need a backup pg who can facilitate for Niko and McDermott instead of a score first pg like brooks.

We've already seen what brooks and Hinrich can and cannot do.

Give Moore the chance and if it doesn't work out, at least they know what they have in him and move on.

They should look for another wing just incase Snell or McBuckets doesn't pan out on Hoiberg's system... A big body inside is also needed since they're still unsure about Noah, Pau is older, and Gibson is rehabbing...

Via trade or veterans minimum signing?

I think Portis, ready or not, and Niko are the answers for big man minutes

Gasol (and Noah) should be put on the Duncan plan and be saved for the playoffs

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Their trade chip is still injured so vet minimum is the only option... I'm still not at ease with Niko especially on defense you should pair him up with an enforcer inside to get away with it... DRose should be included in the Duncan plan...

Toni Kukoč a ‘Chicago Bull’ Again After 15 Years

Not exactly huge news, but kind of cool to see him back in the fold all the same.

funny story about kukoc, he had me and my friends kicked out of a mall for asking for his autograph. even still i stilled liked watching him play

Slim pickings. Gerald green would've been nice as the insurance wing player

You want boozer back? haha

I'm not at ease with Nikos defense either. Let the offseason and hoi-ball work its magic

Drose should get on the Westbrook plan first ;)

Dorell Wright. Rasual Butler, or Shawne Williams for the wing or Joel Freeland if they want to add another big will be a great pick up. There are rumors though that they'll sign Javale McGee... Good thing about Booz is that he never talked shit about the Bulls despite of the amnesty so I'm cool in a reunion with him taking the "White Mamba" or Mark Madsen role. By Westbrook plan you mean to tell him don't hold back and be frantic all the time brushing off the risk of injury? By the way, Taj will probably be the starting PF next season since it seems that The Mayor will not put a starting line-up with both Jo and Pau in it

Big Joel already signed a two year deal in Russia mate.

Where the fuck is Kevin? That tardy bastard has failed us again not putting up the latest players updates... They're loaded with bigs anyway they have enough stash for their annual injury backups...

Those are some good options, except boozer haha
So glad Pau/Jo lineup is over. Happy for taj if finally gets the starting nod
Westbrook plan as in come back stronger and more assertive from the injury instead of whatever that was this past year

Starting Gasol at centre and moving Noah to the bench seems like the way to go. Gasol's still a quality player, but can't seem to get the job done defensively at power forward. Noah meanwhile has declined rather quickly, with questionable health and reliability.

Fingers crossed Noah comes back strong. He's playing for a new contract. Let's hope last year was an anomaly

Players tend to turn into Jordan during contract years...

Tim Thomas had his share of those.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Didn't the coach mention he wants to go trendy and play small? That possibly means Gasol at center with Mirotic or Gibson at 4. Or could it be Noah starting and Gasol off the bench?

I think it was to a certain extent, but some of his problems have always been there, like his lack of touch around the basket. With him having a subpar year in the areas that he's normally good at, his deficiencies were even more pronounced. As you said though, here's hoping for good health and adequate incentive in the form of a contract year.

Noah was capable of scoring around the basket and good for an occasional tornado jumper... 2yrs ago. I didn't have a problem with him then and don't with this current roster if he stays competent. His meal ticket was on the defensive end anyway.

I don't think he ever found a level of comfort with Gasol on offense, he missed the preseason, and was probably playing through injury most of the year (at least that's what I'm telling myself)

Can't explain how a career 70+ ft% shooter was only 60% this past year

A return to playing center should help him get back on track defensively

And on another note.. Our friend Stacey King had a fluff piece on csnchicago saying McDermott should win MIP. At least we can take away he definitely will get his chance to play

Another side note- more anti brooks propaganda... Toney douglas signed with the pacers (Kevin slacking again on the report). I would've liked the Bulls to give him a shot to make the roster.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Trust me the Pacers did you a favour.

Toney D is no better than Brooks at this point, they both have had there time in the L and both shown flashes but third string garbage minutes is where at now.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Sat Aug 08, 2015 12:56 am

Another man's trash is another's treasure haha

I don't think douglas is any good either. I'm on board the anything but brooks train

I hear you, at least back up pg's are a lot easier to pick up than big men!
