Offensive efficiency makes senste to me, but on the defensive side? Maybe effectiveness? If you can describe what exactly DefAw does ingame, I'd be much obliged, although I suspect it influences everything a player does.

In case the clarification of overall ratings was meant for me: sorry for being unclear, I know that and have no problems with the overall ratings, they only matter in fantasy drafts or new seasons where you let the AI choose their own rotations anyway. '05 Joe Johnson has a 68 OVR and he's a beast, so...
Most of my post was about the onball defense rating and every number where I don't explicitly state which rating it represents implies a DEF rating. I also view ratings as relative to each other, the main reason for that post was me seeing Artest & Battier on 99 DEF, most other defensive stoppers on 90 and then the guys I mentioned at 70, didn't seem right.

I won't promise anything this time but I hope to look at positions (like Draymond Green being SF/PF instead of PF/C) and Play Types (like Shaun Livingston not having Post Up High/Low).

The definition states that defensive awareness influences how often a player picks up the ball handler ie help defense. This seems to be what happens in-game and is why big men have higher ratings. It also influences shot effectiveness ie a player with higher defensive awareness will cause more misses than a player with lower defensive awareness. I think it also influences how well a player fights through screens. I don't think DA influence steals, blocks, playing passing lanes, or going for on-ball steals because there are separate ratings/tendencies for those. I could be wrong, though.

I don't think the Warriors run plays enough for Livingston in the HP/LP to give him that play type. From what I've watched, he tends to only post when he has a mismatch in early offense or freelance situations. I can't remember them running a single set play for him in the post.

i hate these kind of signings, loading a buhcn of current and ex all stars into one time, like lakers in 2004, boston in 2008, miami in 2011.... from the sports side of a view, i can understand it, everyone wants to try to win a championship, but try it with your own team, not with making another kind of all star team.

i just hate it...

Cmon its very very unfair. This guy is 35, he sacrifice 12M and agree 1.4M because he want to win. This is not Bosh, LBJ pussies deal. They were in their prime when signed with Miami, West was in his prime 4-5years ago,cmon dont judge last true power forward. There is no way to compare 41y old Malone and 29y old LBJ and their signings.

sko, i don't agree... i understand his point of view (also yours) but i don't agree with making and jumping into those kind of (let's call them) all star teams.

on the other side, i hate to see him on the bench... i would rather see him figthing with george, ellis, hill and scola and try to win it in the east instead of trying this easy door win. which is also not guaranteed.

he is on the way to be bench player, look at whole career but look at last season, season without George, did he score more? even his rebounds goes down. Indiana have a lot of young talent there. West will end his career in next 3y, there is no chance for Indiana to win championship. He is 35, im 35 i fully understand him, now or never.

Even though I'd like to see him remain as a Pacer, he has every right to decline their offer if he thinks he can't win a championship with that team. Allen jumped from Boston to Miami so he can win more rings. That's all you need to know.
