adjusting salaries

I want to change my players salaries using the players.dbf file.

I know it's column DN.

I go to /my documents/nba/working database/ players.dbf
and alter it. I then load up the game, and it's back to the old data.

It seems that nba live is overwriting the players.dbf file.

Should I be changing the origdb directory's players.dbf file instead?
