I would be interested to see how my 770 I just got stacks up to your 970.
I know yours will perform better, but I'm curious about how big of a gap there will be.
What is your CPU & RAM?

Mine is:
CPU - AMD FX-6300 Six-Core 3.5GHz(OC - 4.1GHz)
GPU - MSI GTX 770 Clock(1137-1198MHz) 2GB DDR5
RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport - 8GB(1866)
Windows 8.1

CPU - AMD FX-8320 Octa-Core 3.5GHz (OC @ 4.2 GHz on stock voltage)
RAM - 8GB Kingston, running @1600MHz

And I will have Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 edition, running at 1178 MHz standard clock and 1329 MHz boost. It's got windforce x3 cooling, so that's nice.

So benchmarks should be fairly comparable.

I just got gtx 980  at the end of the day I couldnt resist selling my r9 290x now. Sold it in auction for 350 eur and bought zotac gtx 980 reference design for 550 USD/440 EUR. @newegg.com with help from my aunt living in USA who brought it to me today so no shipping costs :D , except for a bottle of pinot noir wine
Gtx 980 is a beast. Bf4 with ultra settings runs @110-120 fps @1920x1200 resolution and the reference design cooler performs like a charm - cool and very quiet.

Yeah, I was hoping for a GTX980 too, but in my country we basically give half of our money away on taxes - first some on salary and then 21% taxes on anything you buy (with exceptions like food). So I had a long conversation with myself and decided that it wouldn't be reasonable to pay $700 for the card (note to self: wtf happened to our currency it just dropped 10% against USD :/ ).

Damn... you need to move. :o

When I turned it off, it was very smooth after that. All medium settings except for the shader (high setting).
Graphics card is GeForce 650 GTX.

Same for me with 770m. Sucks though. With special effects off the game does not look good IMO :(
I can put players and textures to high though.

GTX 970 is the best deal on the market right now. You'll definitely need to update your card, so yeah, I'd go for that. A new CPU would be helpful, too.

Here is my specs:
Intel i3-3210 3.2ghz
gigabyte h61m-ds2 3.0
4gb ddr3
amd radeon hd 5500 series

I manage to run the game all at low and turned off except texture at med and player high i get 30-40 fps shoots at 50 sometimes but not steady. If i put it all at low i get the same fps and its not steady. What settings do i need to change. Im good playing at that range but i want it steady.

robgtz, u will run for sure but you dont want to see this with this specs, sry must be honest.

suirad, your cpu will block possibilities of 970, if u dont want to change whole platform best choice is 770 from NV or 290 from ATI, but not new ones, look for some with 1-2 year of warranty. If u want to buy 970 its right now best price/power gpu but u need at least 4ghz to use whole 970 power. In my country second hand 770/290 with 1-2 year of warranty cost 50% price of new 970, check how it looks in your country.

just3n21, i think no chance for you

Lorakster, sry bro, you problem is your gpu, u will run but with fps drops and all low/medium

u know, your i3 4gen have nice ghz, but its still only i3. Now the question is, do you want to upgrade your computer in the near future. If not im strongly recommend you gpu around 760gtx or second hand 670/680 because your cpu can downgrade power of better gpu like 770gtx. Look for something with 2gb, but remember 750gtx with 2gb is waaay worst than much older 670gtx, so its not always so clear.
Let me know, how much money you want to spent and/or maybe u want to change your cpu also.

45-50 fps is smooth for you? You are lucky man, because i play with same fps and it is not smooth for me. Definitely need a comfortable 60 fps for this game :(

same for me, maybe its all about stuttering, maybe there is group of players with 40-50fps but without stuttering and game runs smooth for them, to many questions

Yes, but you won't be able to run it on maximum, I think. Your video card only has 700 mb ram and is several generations old, so I don't even know if you can run it on medium.

I just bought the game through Steam, and it seems i have some kind of problem. I open up the game and it stays on the image with Durant , and when i open up the task manager it says that NBA isn't responding. I tried to open the game in Steam Offline Mode and every time i open it up it closes in like 2-3sec. Any possible solutions for this?

What would be the reasonable card to upgrade to?

GTX 760 I guess (depending on rest of your pc). If you aren't in rush, I would wait for Q2 2015 for 20nm.

I know there were other posts, sorry for terrible quoting.

Finally got this PC setup again and running the game.

:(

1080p Max settings does get a consistent 60fps 75% of the time, the drops were down to the 10s. Recommended settings were 720p, textures on low, and everything else maxed. With that I was getting a "clean" 60fps, but I mean c'mon, PC, nothing clean about those numbers. Still unsure which settings I want to sacrifice for frames, but I have started looking for local shops that sell 970s
Opinions are my own.

What CPU do you have? Depending on the CPU, a 970 will get you 60fps easily for gameplay maxed out.
