it's set to 3 by default.

Thanks pistonnation, this worked for me! I was already getting worried because the game was unplayable even on the lowest settings possible :D

Heavy hard drive access (by other programs especially) has always made it worse.

I assume Leftos personally coded in even more stutter this year.

Why would Leftos do that? Quite a assumption you're making don't you think?

He was just kidding. I mean come on, it's benji.

I don't know benji, didn't know if he was kidding or not. Some other guys were giving Leftos the business earlier about what influence or lack of, that he has on the game.

I tried this with the last two steps (NVIDIA) and it stopped the stuttering but now after I booted up my laptop again it started to stutter even with the correct settings. I also encountered an issue with a "Please Wait" loop (Windows 8.1) and when I tried playing it again I was logged out of Steam, had to log back in, and I had to re-enter the file location for 2K15 so Steam could play it.

I had a massive performance boost by running straight from the executable with admin rights.

right click your shortcut and click open file location. Scroll down to the 2k15 icon and run as administrator.

I have stuttering too with 60fps!

i5 4460 with R9 270X.

Same here, if I have croud detail to medium and all on high, then its OK for the most part. But some camera movements and alot of players below the basket it stutters sometimes. I have i5 4690 and gtx 650 ti 2gb and 8 gigs of ram. Hope they fix this stutter issue, because I can run it on high with constant 60 fps during gameplay and some fps drops during cut scenes...

This seems to be the most successful fix.

I have yet to play the game (8 hours left to download :( ) so I don't know what this is all about, but many people have seem to get a better performance running it as admin.

Just quoting for visibility.

Okay, I'm in the HELP! category now. On my desktop is a .url shortcut, which I can't run as admin. When I look in my program files and in my Steam folder I see the .exe app. But when I try to right click and run as admin, I get a .dll missing message. Basically I am tied to Steam with the program. What am I missing here? It seems that running it through Steam is the big hangup. Any help is appreciated.

If you have a dll missing I advice that you verify the game cache with Steam. Right click NBA 2K15 select the bottom one Propierties, select the tab Local Files, and click on the bottom option Verify integrity of game cache. This process should take a while. It doesn't matter if it's a shortcut or straight from the exe, Steam will launch if it's not already running. I only played it once with admin rights and haven't needed to do it again.

I found out what I did wrong. I did a copy and paste to my desktop, instead of a shortcut. That said, the game ran no better than it did with me messing with the VSync. I'm done tinkering. I'm shelving this until Leftos and Co. get to the bottom of it.

I guess I am lucky since whatever I throw at it, the game runs smoothly @60fps @1080 resolution, except for one run when I tried to run it @4k resolution through DSR option, when FPS dropped to ~40..
Everything maxed out (vsync and tripple buffering enabled in nvidia control panel 3D settings, with vsync OFF in the game settings). Playing it with default camera (broadcast stadium).

Just tried your things except GameBooster : Admin launch, tripple buffering enablement, I even OC'ed my 6950 with MSI AfterBurner, but I still have stutters @50+ fps and cannot get a smooth game with maxed out settings.

Question : Should I wonder about my rig ? I run a 2500k @3.8 and 6950 w/ 2GB on a 1080p monitor... Isn't it supposed to be enough in 2014 ? The game needs to be optimized or my rig needs upgrade ?

Thanks for help friends.

I think your spec is ok with 2gb on your gpu it should be enough for next gen sport game which is for sure non benchmark game. You know, the worst thing is, even if u lower some sets, the game will still stutter or fps drop. This game stuttering on FULL STABLE 60FPS for many of us.

Re: STUTTERING SOLVED! (Hopefully)

Sat Oct 11, 2014 9:06 am

That's the thing man, I've been tried to tweak the settings in order to have a smooth game but FPS stick around 45, only crowd modification allows me to gain some FPS... Should we beg for a patch from 2k ?

Shut the f. Up. I am just posting it due to the fact that I have no stuttering whatsoever, so maybe full specs, OS information and video settings might actually help someone. vsync off in game and on in nvidia control panel has actually helped for those on nvidia gpus.
And whats to brag about. I have almost four year old cpu and mobo, which is the basis of my pc. Its not like I have sli titan setup with latest intel extreme processor. Just above avg gaming pc.

What are the pros/cons of letting the Nvidia Control Panel/ATI Catalyst apply the settings (i.e. vsyc and anti aliasing)?

If these are set to "on" in the said video card programs, should the game settings mirror them as well? Or let the GPU override it?

These is what I perceive:

1) turn off in-game settings that you wish to turn on via GPU app
2) turn on GPU app settings and let it override the game seettings
3) turn on/mirror the same settings in the video .cfg file
