Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

Post your PC specs here - Reference in first post

Postby UrbanRival on Tue Oct 07, 2014 6:17 pm

Since i see a lot of people asking how 2k15 is performing. I suggest that everybody who already has the game to post in this thread what rig they have and how well it is performing. That way people who don't have the game yet could get an idea of how well their system would perform.
Okay now that everybody has had enough time to post their specs and performance I am putting this reference here that contains information on several different setups. That way people wont have to search through the entire thread to find what they want. Now remember, there is no way i can find every single configuration there is. You may just end up being lucky with your desktop.
And here are some troubleshooter that could help if you are having trouble running NBA 2k15:
1. Video ram is not everything
You might have 2gb of vram, but that does not mean you have a good graphics card! typically higher numbers are better, so go by that. Just look at the reference to get an idea of what i am talking about
2. Micro stuttering
This is a big deal at the moment, on thing that worked for me is to force Vsync via you control center and turn it off in game. Also you could try forcing tripple buffering. Also if you are running crossfire/sli try turning it of and see what that does for you.
3. A good processor does not mean a good gaming experience
Now 2k15 is a game that relies heavily on the graphics card, so if you have a lower end processor but a better graphics card you may be fine. but in the wonderful world of computers something could always go bonkers so keep an open mind.
4.The game stutters when bringing the ball up and during stadium cuts
This could be because you are using a camera that shows more of the stadium and in this way is more resource intensive. Try a different camera see if that helps you.

So now on to the possible rigs:

High end rig:
Processor: High end Intel I5 /I7; 8/6 core AMD FX processor
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX680/690/780/970/980; Radeon R9-280x/R9-290(x)/HD7970 (or better cards)
Ram: 8GB or more
Settings: Max
Status: >60 FPS (minor stutter in cut scenes)

Mid end rig:
Processor: Intel I5/I3; AMD phenom/athlon series
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 670/760/770; Radeon R9-280 R9-270X/HD 7870/7850
Ram:4-8GB
Video settings: Max-High
Status:60FPS to 50fps (noticeable stutter in cut scenes and such)

Low end rig
Processor: Intel I5/I3 (lower end models)
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 460 series/560 or lower GTX 750 Ti or lower (or comparable); Radenoen HD 7700/R9-270 or lower
Ram: 4-6 GB
Video settings: med-max
Status 30-50fps on max should get solid 60 fps with certain camera's on med

Even lower end rig
Processor: dual core of some kind
Graphics card: low numbered series (GTX 520/R9-250 you get the point) or internal graphics
Ram: 4GB (or lower)
Video settings: Low
Status: ~30 fps, time to save up some money and get on the upgrade train.

If i missed something don't hesitate to tell me.

AMD Phenom X4 II @ 3.8 GHz
GTX 460 1 GB
8 GB RAM

33 fps on max settings. Time for upgrade, I wanna enjoy this game as much as possible. Thinking about GTX 760 2 GB.

Not really, if he's playing on 1080p with 1GB of VRAM then he's pushing it.

that's why i asked on which resolution does he play...

he also had 40 fps with AA turned off, which is still bad.

Yeah I'm playing on 1080p and 1 GB VRAM is the issue here. As soon as I switched texture details to medium, I got 60 FPS during gameplay view. Before that, I tried no AA and player details on medium. Got 40-42 FPS, but those camera cuts were still bad.

I can tell you this Vlad.. 33 FPS stinks. I want 60 at max settings :P

My point is that the result could be expected for his PC, it's not exactly high-end anymore.

I am very curious how my machine will run it - with the new graphics card I now run BF4 on 1080p at 100fps (give or take 10% depending on situation) with everything maxed out with the exception of supersampling - that's at 115%.

but your point is wrong because official pc specs stated by 2k sports tell different story. he should've been able to get 60fps without AA, but he can't even get 60fps on medium.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit or higher
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo or better (SSE3 or later)
Memory: 2 or more GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 10.1 compatible (512 MB) or better
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 50 or more GB available space
Sound Card: 9.0c compatible

RECOMMENDED:

OS: Windows 7 64 bit or higher
Processor: Intel Core i5 or better
Memory: 4 or more GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX 11.0 compatible (2 GB) or better
DirectX: Version 11
Hard Drive: 50 or more GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
Additional Notes: Dual-analog gamepad

His CPU and GPU falls right into the middle.

As for the specs: there was never any mentioning of 60 fps (which is of any use only for people with 60Hz displays).

I should be able to report on how my PC does with GTX 670 later today. It's gonna be a decisive factor for me whether to get new GPU or not, because GTX760 is very close to 670.

And when you apply texture/player details to medium. How does the graphics compare to NBA 2K14 PC maxed out?
Cos I have a similar CPU, well a Quad Core Q8400 OC @3.0 GHz with 4 GB RAM and GTX 560 Ti OC 1GB. I max NBA 2K14 with 60 fps at 1920x1200 with 8x MSAA.

I'm guessing I won't be able to max NBA 2K15. But I'd be happy to play at Medium settings so long as the graphics aren't worse than 2K14 at max settings. I'd be happy to know if Medium graphics detail is the equivalent of High graphics detail of NBA 2K14 PC! :P

I have an MSI gaming laptop with:
Windows 8
i7-4700mq
GTX 770m
8 GB ram

Not a beast PC by any stretch of the imagination

Everything maxed: 45fps
Everything maxed with player details on medium and special effects off: 60fps

Can also get 60fps if i max eerything and turn crowd on to low.

First NBA2k game i haven't been able to max out.
