I actually had a PC like that when I was a kid called a PS/2. If I remember correctly it's CPU ran at 7mhz.
I used it to play Battletech(the game on my avatar). Back then I would have killed for a VGA monitor that supported 256 colors. Good times.

i5 4670k @ 3.5 ghz (To be overclocked once I get a better cooler)
r9 270 (To be overclocked when I feel not lazy)
8 GB DDR3 @ 1333 mhz
Will I be able to run it? What settings, do you guys think?

Will the 360 controller be compatible with the game?

Re: NBA 2K15 PC specifications released!

Presumably. I don't believe they've said one way or the other.

Re: NBA 2K15 PC specifications released!

Tue Sep 02, 2014 11:24 am

They have actually confirmed it pretty much. Not that it was in doubt, since 99.99% of all games have it.

Re: NBA 2K15 PC specifications released!

A "dual-analog gamepad" is supported and x360 controller falls into that category.
Also it has "full controller support", but that's no surprise. Hopefully they'll hide the cursor.

It better be Atari 2600 joystick compatible!

these specs are more marketing oriented than anything, in a perfect world this next gen graphics (talking now about 2k14 ps4 graphics) could run on solid c2d processor @ 2.8-3.0 ghz with maybe 2-4gb ram and maybe gtx 280 nvidia..but it's all about spending more and more on new hardware, that specs that leaked on steam are ludicrous, with that pc configuration i would expect to run a photorealistic far cry 3-like game with open world and infinite distance view and not a basketball game lol..i mean graphics are nice on next gen but these specs are insanely unrealistic..that's all..and btw i could chew on those requirements if they were for maybe gta5 where graphics are insanely good and world is insanely dense (grass, trees, people, cars and lots of details) but they can't fool me with those requirements for a freaking basketball game lol

Similar thoughts. I hope they are correct :|
An illustrative example - 8-year-old UE3 engine, in games with using UE3 in recent years has increased substantially hardware requirements

Nothing ridiculous about an i5/i7 with a GTX 660.

That's called mid-tier. Get with the times.
If you bought a PC so you can play video games on ultra settings and never upgrade then lol.

2K does not benefit from forcing you to upgrade to top-tier hardware. In fact, it would hurt their sales.

You don't think increased art assets, physics, improved lighting, and SSAO is costless? You think because its running on the same engine it means specs should stay generally the same?
That engine is a foundation, a baseline. It costs time, money, and a hell of a lot of effort and ingenuity to create game engines. That's why devs just opt to optimize what is already there and built off of them.

Its just ridiculous how every thread about a game on the PC is talking about how they want crazy good insane graphics and then when the specs are released people start whining and crying because they can't run the game. UPGRADE or miss out.

pfhaha. Too much underestimating here in general. An i5/i7 could be placed in the high-end but it's practically normal when it comes to people who actually play AAA PC games. But honestly a GTX 280? That was an high-end video card when I started gaming in pre-2010 period. A GTX 660 is a mid-ranged video card in todays standards, while the GTX 650, 7750 are entry level. Games and hardware improve, and they improved quite a bit in the past few years in my opinion. So no, even with 2K14/15 being a "Sports" basketball game without the large open worlds, they have the numerous people in a stadium during a game (improved crowds, cheerleader, bench, players, coach, mascot, etc), increased texture size, upgraded models/shapes, upgraded lights/lighting, etc. The game is either based on a total new engine or has been upgraded a good amount. In addition 2K15 seems to have upgraded hair which will take a tole in some sort of physics/tessellation on the CPU or GPU.

Everyone not interested in upgrading their computers should be happy they can play the game in DX10/9 mode, and not be locked into DX11. As for everyone with DX11 video cards there's a chance the game could have been better graphically but DX10/9 compatibility might have held back the game. I hope that's not the case for 2K15. I'm not saying there is no marketing orientation into the System Requirements as some games really did exaggerate the requirements, but they still need a good Quad-Core or a Really Good Dual-Core (Intel i3/New Pentium).

I have a 3770K + GTX 780 DCII, so I can run the game perfectly, however I'm not with you at all.

How can you consider fair that they ask as for an i7 CPU to max the game out? do you know that is more CPU than Assassin's Creed 4 asks for?

Next gen is a gimmick mainly because new consoles are just old hardware: CPU cores running @ 1.8 GHz and GPUs equivalent to HD 7850-7870 IS NOT next gen, there's not miracle possible with that stuff. So if you consider fair asking PC users for an i7 + a GTX 760-770 to get 60fps @1080p in ultra, when those consoles get it with that rusty hardware is your opinion; but where you see people complaining senseless because they have bad PCs I see a worrying lack of optimization for PC games.

Re: NBA 2K15 PC specifications released!

The game does not require a new i7 to run LOL. The guy who made the requirements just has no idea of hardware. Look at Dark Souls 2 requirements, where the Recommended Videocard is slower than the Minimum Videocard (6870 vs 5870).
Anything with 4 Cores and ~3GHz will run this Game perfectly.

Will NBA 2k15 be able to run on my laptop smoothly (Core i5-4210U/1TB HDD/8GB RAM/Windows 8.1) or should I just get a PS4?
