But if you have a DirectX 10.1 video card it will not be able to use the extra features and functionality as a DirectX 11 video card could.

Direct3D 11 is basically Direct3D 10.1 with more features and functionality.

ah right i had a braincramp right there :D

sure makes sense :D

I don't think so. It's a sports game.

NOOOO..dx11? All the new games ive tried to play won't let me start the game bc it says i require dx11 but i can't get dx11 on my card i think. I don't know much about pc stuff since my friend built this pc a few years ago but is there a way to get dx11 to play the new games like watchdogs, crysis 3 and now nba2k15? I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 275

Is my card dx11 compatible but i just haven't gotten it in a windows update b/c my windows 8.1 needs activating?

I have never used a laptop, so I'll ask here again, the community here is really nice, I gotta say. I don't know should I buy a laptop or a desk computer. The laptop price is 350$ higher than the desk computer's price. But the problem is that my monitor is pretty old, so sooner or later I'd need to buy another one so it's 50/50.

I'll start by asking what's the difference between those letters at the end of the processor model? Like, i5-4200U, i5-4200H, i5-4200MQ and so.

Anyway, the laptop I want to buy has a dual core i5-4200H processor, but it has GTX 860M 2GB (Maxwell family) GPU. Would the processor make big changes?

In short - i5-4200H + GTX 860M 2GB vs i5-4460 + GTX 760 2GB?

I know that the desk computer is better, but is the difference really big? The laptop has its own advantages when going somewhere away from house and so.

Thanks, I'm asking same thing like the third time, but it's not often you buy a thing 1.5k$ worth for a year or two.

As i said i played 2k11 on the pc and 2k14 on the next gen. Told u about the graphics between the two already..the downgrade after 2k11 and i got the answer i am looking for when 2k next gen came out.. i always feel like those 2k14 next gen graphics was supposed to be 2k12 if next gen consoles wasnt developed and based on previous requirements by 2k and the observation about the quality of the graphics between the two i came up with those... i got it right..right?

Windows 8 comes with Directx 11 pre installed. Anytime you want to check your DirectX version, just click your start button and type dxdiag and press enter.

@BaubaS have you thought about using a TV as a monitor?

So I've always been able to run 2K14 at Medium/High settings for the most part at 52-54 FPS. What do you think I can do now? Just Medium?

Thanks, but what the hell. I just checked and it says i have DirectX 11 as my version but why do i get errors of "you must have directx11 to run this game" for crysis 3 and Watch Dogs?

Based on nba 2k's history and track record.. People considering an upgrade should think of the cpu first than their gpu. I for one upgraded my graphic card way back from gt220 to gt550ti but it didnt make much difference.. so cpu first..you have a strong cpu then you be able to run this game smoothly even with a mid level card.. just my thoughts.

I highly, highly doubt you will need anything better than an i3 maybe an i5.
Unless you're telling me NBA 2K15 will use those 8 logical cores efficiently?

That being said I'm set in that department at least. Max settings for 2K. :)

GTX 275 is not direct x 11 compatible.
Upgrade time.

Oh boy. Generally when they are talking about system requirements, they are talking about the desktop versions of CPU/GPU. You'll still be able to run it but I think you're looking at minimum/low settings.

youre not really wrong here but you cant generalize that

everybody needs to look at his/her PC and make the right upgrade where its nessesarry

and what concerns me.. many here seem to be playing on Laptops

that could be tricky.. the M versions of cards are quite a step below the desktop versions

was always beyond me why anybody would game with a laptop^^ i mean sure.. i suppose many Sports Game players are not serious Gamers.. but still..

never, ever buy a Laptop for Gaming unless you have WAY too much money^^

There is no reason for it to be 50gb, It's probobly like Titanfall and the 2k dev team is being stupid and either A) Packing every single language into the game or B) Not compressing the Audio/Textures properly.
