No game will be impossible to hack except online-only games.

NBA 2K14? They took out every feature, dumbed down the graphics, screwed up online, and look what happened? Low profit. Not because of piracy, but because the game sucked.

If they want better profits, make a better and more fulfilling game, which they did this year.
Piracy is a strawman and an excuse. Every developer suffers from it, its just another cost of business.

I've never bought the piracy kills sales argument, pirates are never going to buy the games anyway so the developer isn't losing their money because they were never going to get it in the first place. If you half-arse your games then you lose sales, it's as simple as that, putting in restrictive DRM just hurts your customers, not the pirates.

I'm soooooooo happy about this! I got an xbox 1 but I really enjoy playing 2k on PC because of being able to shorten the season and making sliders that make the game play better and teammates act like teammates.

Now saying all that, I hope the addresses are locked in this year. Did anyone hear if they might be? There where for nba 2k10-13 but for 2k14 it was random every time you logged in. I really hated that because I liked using cheat engine for my MYPLAYER mode. I know we have that Chinese trainer but I could never get it to work. And when I finally did it just froze up the game half the time. I just want it the old way because CE was soooo easy to set up and easy for anyone to figure out.

CE worked for attributes. But yeah I never was able to turn off the auto save on 2K14, among other things.

I believe pirates would change their approach if more and more game titles would keep up with the high standard set by some other game titles where online game modes are close to perfect.

FIFA is an EA Sports title and they require all of their games to use/run origin to play the game. I have no problems with that. There are different kind of DRMs for games. Even now there is/should not be a perfect crack for FIFA 14. Bugs such as gigantic soccer ball, easy/always red card for tackling, crashing all exists. That would be the reason why FIFA 14 sold well. FIFA 14 wasn't NG for PC but had improved features. 2K14 is similar. They did not get the NG version but they had more features compared to the previous games. What screwed 2K over? The fact it was so easy to hack the game.

As long as they don't block the ability to play a game when the internet is down I am all for DRMs.
