Blacktop Revitalization - 4K Unis and Generic Tester - New Backboards!

I think these came out better than I was expecting.





All using that linework from the last post, and this is also CAT recolorable.




All t-shirts have been created, so now its these NBA knockoffs, street shorts, NBA knockoff shorts, and then into iff files they go. Then I gotta make new BTR rosters that use them.

those are the iff files, they need to be a CAT uniform to be recolored properly. I have NOT made a roster using these files yet.

for those that want to try out those uniforms, I made a quick change to that last NBA Street roster to replace the uniforms with these. I have not done anything to the colors, but it works, just check the alternate uniforms.

so here is a generic version for you all to try out. Not quite "Community Ballaz" but instead uses an all generic Association save to get players from. Then I took half of the nicknames in the database and gave them to players with certain criteria, like The Body Guard is the biggest and fattest player iirc. Then I took the other half and randomly gave them out, because the user isn't supposed to know who is good at what.

They wear the knockoff NBA uniforms (home/away/black alt) and the tshirts or blank tops. I tried my best to make uniforms, shorts, and the detail colors correlate a bit rather than be completely random. I also made the shoes generic colors so players weren't wearing orange shoes with an all orange get-up.

Of the 584 players in the roster, only 180 are available, which was chosen by random. I am planning to keep using this set of players in the future of BTR as "locals" for each court and for the career "Just Ball" stuff.









So next up is adding the updated NBA roster as "legend" teams and throwing in a few NBA players into the mix for regular BTR or the Just Ball stuff. Then I finally, FINALLY, get to start making some courts, FINALLY.

Added NBA teams as "legends" via latest UBR (thanks to and yes permission from HAWK23)
Added all 150? (iirc) nicknamed NBA players to the database of "local" players, this is with their 20% boost from NBA Street because https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOw8aC78LoU
Added 10 of those nicknamed local NBA players to random teams.







Season crashes (there is no AS teams so duuh)
So I gotta fix that, get seasons working for careers
Maybe get things together to easily update with each UBR update
Figure out how to change uniforms with each roster release
Figure out how to change 'local' players with each release
Maybe add FA and decade teams to legends
Make, New, Courts, FINALLY.

in case you missed it, new tutorial with 1-texture courts for 4096 resolution - viewtopic.php?f=154&t=96133

so, if I'm going to sure up the 1 texture courts, may as well take advantage of RED MC and make some new backboards using the _lo quality ones from 2K12! These do not have a hidden glass model that cannot be removed, meaning I can do custom backboard styles (visually) and not have a weird reflection around them.

So on top of a new default to use (the _lo ruckers have 3 rims on 1 side.... so I can't do my rotation trick, basically I'd have to do my backboard edits twice, instead of once and flipping it around to the other side of the court) I made some new backboards. Small 4'x3.5' ones, a huge 6'x6' one, and a redo of the curved one (remember, no texture imports yet)

So next I'll either work on different rims or supports, then I'll be able to combine the three at will. Then I finally get to figure out wtf I'm doing with environments. MLB vistas or NBA stadiums (HD texture editing either way). Then I'll have a pretty damn solid foundation to work off of to make courts quickly, and hopefully a nice template to share as well.

If you want to try the untextured backboards, use them, release a court with them before me, etc, they are attached below, in RED MC export format.

usually the 3rd to last one, that number can change if you aren't using the compressed file with names.

I have tried everything from mixing the huge textures from the city idea with the rucker near-court environment with MLB vista building backgrounds, to the simple midnight ballers courts with the MLB vista buildings to add an environment. There is simply no good way to implement them that makes it worth doing for this or a true NBA Street mod.....

Did you download it?

the stadiums are named "sOldTown_day" and "sOldTown_night"
The floor file is "fOldTown"

rename the files however you would like.

Do you have frame rate issues whenever you play on the court?

rich, I get a minor drop. I will try to send you a different outdoor environment that hopefully will not have that issue.
