Worst case scenario, if it is a 360/PS3 port, it should remain highly moddable.

True, but hasn't the modding pretty much gone as far as it can go? If it's a 360/PS3 port, wouldn't any modding basically be a rehash of the mods done for NBA 2K14?

Not really. No one has really done much with RED MC just yet and if Vlad implements model editing with full support/importing custom models from scratch, well, that would be unprecedented within this community.
Opinions are my own.

Furthermore, it's likely our current tools wouldn't work at all with a PS4/X1 port. As such, it would take a little while to get modding started. As I said, if NBA 2K15 PC turns out to be a 360/PS3 port, at least we should be able to do all our usual creative things with it.

If it is a PS4/X1 port, then obviously there are a different set of benefits, which most would argue outweigh immediate modability.

Actually, my friend Brent72 said that NBA2K14 NEXT-GEN is using iff files so maybe just maybe we can open it (the iff files) the same way we open it in the past 2k games.

I can confirm that you will need a PC in order to play the PC version.

The real question is if 2K15 will have a Dreamcast port.

i didnt know FIFA 15 was next gen. that's good to know. the comps I'm looking at can certainly run FIFA 15, so I should be all set for 2K15.

I think, in general it is not correct to compare the system requirements of FIFA 15 and NBA 2K15 as equivalent, because there are different engines, so will have different system requirements. And why now these discussions, if still does not know anything about the PC port

Just to be honest
it's not crazy that PC gamers don't even know what kind of Ver will rls like all the consoles users?
i mean we need to know what a surprise wait for us below and if we PreOrder the game or NOT.

A fair amount of people seem to be pre-ordering the console versions, not knowing anything about the game except that Kevin Durant is on the cover. One might say that's a little crazy, too.

You are right
so here a small service from me to the console users
if you buy 2k15 for XBONE or PS4 you will get the next gen of the game
and if you buy 2k15 for xbox-360 or PS3 you will get the current gen of the game
hope this little service from me will help you when you pre-order.

(pc users sry but right now i don't have news for you, maybe just go out and see how money it's will be cost or how many disks the game will be)

no one is forcing you to preorder. No one who isn't making money off the game's sales is telling you that it is a good idea to preorder right now. Preordering does nothing for you. Steam is not going to run out of keys on release day, neither will GMG or anywhere else that sells keys.

If you want a disc version then you might want to preorder. If decisions like whether or not it is a next gen port, or if you are just worried they might screw you over, then don't preorder.

Just remember, I can preorder pretty much up to the minute before the game releases, and still get the preorder bonuses. There is no benefit to buying an unreleased game this early other than to brag to 2K's community managers and pray for a retweet.

So IIRC PS4/Xbox 1 both work with a x86 architecture....so actually it would be faster & cheaper form them to just port the NG version to PC than porting the PS3/360 version...

Unless of course they think the "average PC gamer" has a low rig which cannot handle the PS4/Xbox 1 ports and want to assure a wider niche market...

It should still be easier for them to port the x86 version and include graphic options to favor lower end pcs.
