I like when the players choose winning chance or whatever over money. It makes fun team build imo possible with more talent load. I am kinda hoping Melo walks so Phil and Knicks can finally rebuild from scratch while Melo gets to play with Rose and Noah.

I've been saying that shit for the past 14 years. Unfortunately, owners can't be fired. Since the Knicks are a cash cow (win or lose), Dolan's never selling the franchise. In other words, we're stuck.

The Madison Square Garden Company and the New York Knickerbockers today announced that the company’s new NBA Development League team will be named the Westchester Knicks and unveiled the new team’s logo at a special event at Westchester County Center. The Westchester Knicks, which serves as the exclusive affiliate of the New York Knicks, will debut in the 2014-15 season, playing its home games at the County Center in White Plains, New York. Following the initial announcement on March 10 regarding the new franchise, the Knicks invited fans to help choose the name for the new D-League team by submitting suggestions online. The Westchester Knicks was the popular choice among fans.

I can't appreciate his mentality. But it is what it is, it's his personal preference. But is kinda why I've started to like KD.

It makes me think, he's staying put in New York though. The Knicks are going to give up huge cap space for over 30y old Melo for next 6-8 years. This is going to nice.

According to Chris Broussard, Carmelo will visit Dallas, Houston & Chicago once free agency begins.

Calderon's a decent pickup, I suppose. I'd suggest they were better off with Chandler.

I agree. It's hard to find/replace a defensive anchor of Chandler's caliber. Of all the contracts, I'd liked the Knicks to get rid of, those two weren't the ones I thought of in first place. Even worse is that the Knicks got Calderon in return who's more expensive than Felton.

Of course, that's all irrelevant to the future of the Knicks. It's about Melo being a leader, a franchise player, Fisher being a capable coach, and the Knicks being able to make a few shrewd moves along the way. If they can stay healthy, I think they can improve on last year's disappointing season.

I don't see the 2014-15 Knicks as being much more than a .500 team, Andrew - and that's IF they make an effort on defense. So far it's been spotty.
