You can change the 2k14 logo that you see in the titlescreen in the global.iff

I messed around a bit with global.iff, titlepage.iff, defaultloadingscreen.iff, 2kbackendwipe.iff, and englishbootup.iff

Wanna check 'em out and let me know what you think?? Are you interested in lending me a hand at all in editing these and other files?? It would be greatly appreciated. (Y) (Y)

Great, i'll bundle 'em up and shoot 'em over to you sometime today, hopefully. Are there other frontend/menu type .iff files we could be dipping into as well? I'm trying to give things a 90's/JAM vibe. I replaced all the team logos on start-up with 8-bit logos, but you can't really tell much of a difference. I also put what I think is a pretty cool looking 16-bit set of faces to overwrite the other loading image at boot-up. (Y) (Y)

Nothing that I could think of. The frontend_sync.iff is full of LeBron's selfies so yeah :D
EDIT: Actually, I think it controls the mycareer logo etc. in the menu

I've been inspired by Jao's most recent video, and what I'll be adding next are individual year All-Star teams. I think I'll start with 1994, since those uniforms were both sweet and incredibly difficult to make, plus you include a lot of all-time greats (what year doesn't?).

Also, with all this amazing outdoor arena and floors that Jao keeps adding to the NBA Street 2K14 mod, and my indecisiveness/inability to really do anything with the Jam Arena, would you guys think taking Jam outside would be a better idea than keeping the black floor setup that's currently in place? Or is that then too much just like Street? I want there to be plenty of differences between the two, since Jao does what he does so well.

My vote goes for the inside court, to distinguish it from Street and keep to the original Jam spirit.

I feel like it is a bit too much like Street. Not in a....heeey, thats what I was doing, kind of way, but I think the stadium crowd and stylized nature like that fits Jam better than warehouses. Now Rucker is the exception, I think Rucker would work well, stylized, of course, not vanilla.

That said, I think we definitely need to do a Street X Jam and Jam X Street mod, like Tekken and Street Fighter. How we do that is beyond me right now though, since Street is still so early in comparison.
Opinions are my own.

I agree, I'm just still struggling with what direction to take the arenas in Jam, along with an extremely limited ability as far as editing arenas and courts is concerned.

Should I keep the more recent all-black court with colored lines (working on adding these) and lighting, as it is in its current state? Should I use something like the Practice Arena, with a generic floor that only changes center logos (I can easily create a tattered looking center logo for each team, etc.)??

This is one area where I really feel 'stuck'. I want to pick something and then spearhead in that direction, but I'm not really sure which way to go. Do people love the current arena atmosphere, or want something more in line with the original NBA Jam series??

I'm still working on some front-end graphics, which KevinParker is really helping out a lot with, and I'd like to even get some big heads and arcade-y exaggerated body models into the mod, for anyone who has a knowledge of Global editing.

Yeah, I know you'd never be like that, and is a large reason why every time I've really thought about heading in that direction, I've come to the conclusion as well that it would be too similar, and thus, a waste. So I know what not to do. I'm just struggling what what to do. :D

We'll definitely figure this out. The beauty of the two mods is they aren't time sensative like, say, March Madness was (but don't tell that to other people who still haven't released a final version of their mod as we approach June), so there's no rush on any of it.

My current thought is trying to obtain permission from all the talented court-makers here who have made retro courts (retroman, stoeck, and plenty of others) and just get a good, arcade-y arena, with a generic crowd (playoff white-out might be cool?), no cheerleaders or mascots, etc.

The question is which arena would be a cool base to start with? Could use the CAT one, or some other smaller-type venue. Something non-specific that can be used for all the teams...

I do like the current concept as it reminds me of the Remix court of the more recent Jam games, though a generic, old school court with the Jam logo at centre court, a crowd with white t-shirts and minimal logos sounds like a good throwback as well.

Maybe I can scratch all the itches by having the 90's teams play in an old school NBA Jam arena, and the 2000's teams play in the Remix/Black court/arena, which is already made.

Currently compiling the retro courts made by the unbelievably talented retroman, utp1985, iamlillard, and anyone else I can find (suggestions welcome, if I'm forgetting people). Going to tweak the old Chicago Arena and make it NBA Jam Arena.

Thank you for the praise "the unbelievably talented retroman". But you must also say Thanks too "sixers85", "kodrinsky" and "stoeck" nothing would be possible without them!

This mod is super fun! Thanks for all the work!

Have you considered adding some of the hidden players? Like the Beastie Boys, various mascots, Heavy D, Jazzy Jeff, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Bill Clinton, George Clinton, Chow Chow ect? Maybe they could be the 6th man on certain teams or have a couple of hidden player teams? Just a thought.
