It's not often you see that happen (though I've actually had it happen in video games before and the rule has been properly implemented since at least NBA Live 95). As I mentioned in the Lakers thread, I'm pretty sure Darryl Dawkins has a league record eight personal fouls in a single game as a result of that rule.

How rare is that to happen? Such an abnormality.
Also Steve Blake had his triple double in his second game back from the injury.

Also the first time I saw this outside NBA video games, crazy.

trying to jump start rondo's season

Rondo's been slowly picking it up. And it seems the Celtics actually might shop him. He's been rumoured to be in many trade talks.

What I can't find by using google though is how often does the shorthanded team win?

In the meantime:
The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired general manager Chris Grant, the team said Thursday.
Well deserved I'd say. Drafting Bennett, acquiring Bynum (and Deng) and a 16-33 record/12th place in the lousy east justify that move.

Cleveland is in good position to get another top 5 pick. With a loaded draft they might salvage some of the damage done by drafting Bennett.

Don't forget bringing back Mike Brown.

My apologies. I was just looking on the players. But it might be one of Grant's biggest mistakes to bring back Brown.
Edit: By the way Memphis set an NBA record for fewest FT attempts since the shot-clock era was introduced in 1954-55.
They had just one in a win against Atlanta.

They should've fired the guy that traded for Jennings & Smith too.
Mon Feb 10, 2014 6:05 am
Also the guy that signed Charlie Villanueva.
Cheeks deserved to be fired for encouraging Josh Smith to shoot those threes and for letting Brandon Jennings be Brandon Jennings even if his passing improved.

Happened in a GSW game a few years back. Warriors didn't even have the eight players required to start the game, so they suited up a couple of injured players, who then had to go in the game to "get injured" so they counted as injured for the purposes of the rule. Pretty sure Nelson was coaching and Turiaf was one of the players, but beyond that no idea when it was or who they were playing.

I remember that. Here's the video of it back from 2010, including post game interviews. The first 3 minutes are highlights.

Nice to be kept in the loop.

Magic pull 2 upsets in a row.

Yeah...

Clippers got sloppy though, they only ended up winning by 45. Can't take your eyes of the prize like that.

What a shame. What was the largest deficit in the history? Was this anything close to it, at least in 3 pt era?
Anyhoo, Jared Sullinger wins a player of the week from East, and Durant for West. Where is IN GREEN?

The Cavs beat the Heat 148-80 (a 68 point margin) back on December 17th, 1991. So, for anyone in Cleveland still feeling some residual bitterness over LeBron leaving, they at least have that over Miami.
Meanwhile, the Sixers fared two points better against the Warriors, losing 123-80 today.
