They may well do some other fine things this season, it looks like the players are willing to compete, even if management are tanking. That's great to see. However, it'll be difficult to top a down-to-the-wire victory over the defending champions, in which they at one point led 19-0.

Ya, I really liked MCW. It would delightful to see that kid take the broken 76ers to a new height.
Sat Nov 02, 2013 11:26 am
Well, Philly's still undefeated. If this whole tanking thing doesn't work out, they can always switch to plan B and win it all.
Sat Nov 02, 2013 11:30 am
Looks like the Sixers' players are definitely more interested in Plan B.
Meanwhile, Heat/Nets is shaping up to be a good one. That should be a fun rivalry with some good clashes this year; I wouldn't mind seeing them in a seven game series.

Wow, Jae Crowder became Reggie Miller in the final minutes and almost gave Houston a scare.
And what an impressive block by Pierce on LeChoke.

Great game; like I said before, that's going to be a fun rivalry and I'd like to see a seven game Playoff series between them. I picked the Nets to win in our daily predictions game as well, so it even ended up with the result I was hoping for.

Hoping for? Damn you Andrew!
BTW, Durant held back to 13 points. I'm waiting for Melo to do a 42 pointer now.

And Dirk fouls out because he breath on Harden. Damn it

The predictions game is serious business. I'll take all the points I can get.

Vitor Faverani has impressed me so far. Not only by posting big numbers, but also due to the leadership he brings onto the court. I know he's no average rookie (he's 25 IIRC), but the transition from playing in Europe to playing in the NBA isn't that easy. The Celtics have the makings of a legendary frontcourt with the Brazilian alongside Olynyk.

The Bulls have thrown away a big lead over the Sixers, who may well successfully defend
their belt.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 11:51 am
At this rate Brett Brown will need to start worrying about keeping his job soon.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 11:53 am
Indeed. With the recent trend in the coaching ranks, he better start preparing for an analyst spot with ESPN or TNT.

Nic Batum literally just fucked around and got a triple-double at the buzzer against the SPURS. Video maybe soon
LOL look at Duncan
Sun Nov 03, 2013 3:12 pm
Amazing how Batum makes it look so easy. This kid's a triple double threat every night. But Portland still has no depth. Mo is decent but that's about it. POR needs a better big(s) for sure. Lopez is going to get outplayed constantly.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 3:34 pm
Great expression from Duncan there. "Yeah, yeah, enjoy this one..."
Sun Nov 03, 2013 4:15 pm
MCW is one solid player the Sixers got in the draft. They are expected to be one of the biggest tankers but they have a 3-0 start with wins against the Bulls and the Heat. Makes me wanna jump into the MCW bandwagon.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 5:21 pm
Give some credit to Turner too man. It's not just MCW.
Duncan caught my eye from last year especially with that DH12 gif.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 5:26 pm
The 76ers will break together more sooner than later. I still expect them to have several 10+ loosing streaks this season.
Still I'm impressed about how they finished off the Heat and Bulls.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 5:51 pm
Right, SteveHTOWN, agreed. Here's the problem. 3-0 is nice and all but might be too costly in a long run. You really don't want them to get too far away from reality. Screw bandwagoners, let the real PHI(spree&grin?) fans speak. Is winning at all cost this season really going to be worth it in the end?
Early success shouldn't change Sixers' plan
Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:12 pm
This is silly, it's three freakin games. The Vancouver Grizzlies won their first two games in franchise history. The Orlando Magic won games two and three in franchise history. (And were 7-7 after 14 games.)
The Charlotte Bobcats started 7-5 last season. The Cavaliers in 2011 started off 4-3. The 1981-82 Cavs were 3-2. 1989-90 Nets were 3-2. (The last three all wound up with the number one pick, or would have if it wasn't for Ted Stepien.)
Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:20 pm
It got silly because Carter-Williams is averaging 20.7 points, 9.0 dimes, and 4.3 steals per game and is winning. Hype's there right now and PHI has to manage the situation smartly.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:28 pm
He's averaging that over THREE games. Willie Burton once averaged 35ppg over three games.
I don't know why people expected the Sixers to be historically horrible anyway. They won 34 games last season and Jrue Holiday was NOT that good.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:32 pm
No need to panic with all this winning. Sixers playing well so some of the players will look good and be easier to trade. Seems like Hinkie knew what he was doing when he traded Jrue and to free MCW as the PG.
Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:45 pm
Jeff Van Gundy pulled out an old expression to explain it: it's early in the season, the bad teams don't know they're bad yet (or words to that effect). I like that one, it's not deeply profound or anything, but it's concise.
