Man, you gotta be kidding me

1. Mostly great graphics.
2. Didn't see a whole lot of difference in terms of gameplay between current gen and next, will have to see more.
3. A lot of the animations I dislike are carried over to next gen :/. I hope they get rid of them at some point.
4. The arena and lighting looks great. Very accurate AAA model. The backboard and backstop are modeled incorrectly however.
5. Don't like the net model or texture, net physics seem the same.
6. The color of the paint and some of the on court logos are incorrect. The size of some of the logos are incorrect.
7. Some court lines don't match nba regulation (like current gen).

Well, that at least made it all believable. Still great, but definitely saw some rough edges.

Graphically it's day and night.
Foot planting looks really nice and just the overall movements look great.
It really does look like you're watching a real game.
Some player models still look kinda weird (Chris Bosh, David Lee). While Bogut looks great.
I'm excited for the game.

I just don't like andre iguodala skin color it has this wierd grey color its different from everyone elses maybe make a light brown color like this edited picture from trailer

but overall the atmosphere an court color looks vibrant lifelife none of those dull boring lifeless courts like last gen i like the scoreboard too not just a black box with numbers on it

If anyone finds the source 1080p footage please post it, like Jao did with the omg trailer.

looks like the same game with a graphics update....
..only way ill give up pc version or be okay with them not making pc version anymore is if they go all out with the create a player and be able to use the cam to scan our faces and tattoos. I got my fingers crossed for that. Hate playing as some generic faced guy that looks the same as all the othe generic created players. The point is to be fully immersed if i'm playing MY career with MY player.

It looks like what 2k6 was on 360, A version of the game with some minor animation improvements and pretty graphics.
I'll stick with a modded PC 2k14.

Yep same game as current-gen just with updated graphics. The OMG trailer was good but it spiked people's expectations.

At least it doesn't look like a Ps2 game like Live.....

not quite "just a graphics update"
viewtopic.php?f=151&t=93348 . Unless you were expecting some sort of virtual reality thing.

And Live looking like a Ps2 game matters regarding this because? I was just speaking on 2k but your right this looks better, no arguments there. We always have to make this an either or thing though, it looks like the same game as always.

After seeing this gameplay has not envy that next-gen of NBA2K14 will not coming to PC this year. Just nothing to envy
Thu Oct 24, 2013 5:21 pm
Wait for next gen on PC just got easier

And yet again, another example of unrealistic expectations from a videogame. Most of the things that will be in Next gen are small things that you won't notice in a 1 minute clip. Most of the bg stuff seems to be in MyGM, MyCareer, & "Park" so obviously everyone's just gonna see it as a graphical update. I mean what were people expecting, it is still a 2k basketball game. Most of the animations from current gen have nothing wrong with them so why would they just delete them just to add them back so people can believe it's next gen? lol.
There will be more animations that aren't in current gen & minimized foot sliding. Then we have to play the game ourselves to experience "Emotion+" so there's that. All in all it is the most "next gen" of all the sports games and it's only the 1st of the new consoles. And if this last gen was any indication this is a hell of a starting point compared to what Live & Madden did last gen when they rebuilt there engines. Imagine where we will be by 2k16..... The jump from 2k6 to 2k8 was massive gameplay wise and even visually, I expect the same here.
Thu Oct 24, 2013 6:14 pm
well said. even some of the little stuff is still noticeable in that short game play.

Still floaty jerseys ......

It doesn't quite live up to the OMG Trailer, though it's not like it looks terrible by any stretch of the imagination. It is a bit disturbing to hear that the game feels like the current gen game, but that's an assessment I think we should trust to our own hands-on experience. That's a brief look at the game based on just a couple of minutes of hands-on time, so I don't know.

On top of that, NBA Live 14 doesn't look like a PS2 game anyway. That's hyperbole, as an actual comparison will demonstrate. No one should argue that it looks better than NBA 2K14 as that simply isn't the case, but that doesn't mean one can't critique 2K14 or observe that raw gameplay doesn't quite match the OMG Trailer. NBA Live 14 having inferior graphics doesn't make such observations any less valid.

PC can handle NEXT GEN Period!

You can really tell the guy playing the game is just one of those generic reviewer dudes at the IGN office they grabbed quickly to do the review....
in any case why the hell compress the video down to 720p and 30fps ?? like whats the fckin point aside from insulting our intelligence directly
I really hope the game actually runs at 60fps and obviously it will be in 1080p, but it's the difference in framerate from 30fps to 60fps to me at least is a bigger difference than the jump from 720p to 1080p..... I can play a game in 720 without a complaint, but playing at anything less than 60fps I'll throw a fckin fit in this day and age of super computers and powerful consoles.... it's why I literally gave away my PS3 copy of GTAV, it was lag city, choppy district

A lot of the gameplay improvements are going to be subtle but very important, and definitely not noticeable in 2 minutes. Points of emphasis, for example, make a world of difference on how the coaches strategize on both sides of the court and are immensely dynamic based on the situation.
Gameplay "looks" similar but the differences in how it plays will shine through hands-on experience.
2K14 also looked similar to 2K13 in the gameplay videos. Does it play or feel the same? Nope.

But that 2k14 and 2k13 played on the same "generation" of console. Since this is the next gen, we we're kinda expecting not just 'subtle' gameplay improvements. I'm still excited to play this though.

Subtle as in not immediately visually apparent through 2 minutes of footage. Not subtle in how they improve the game.
