Much like Jordan in 95, his ball handling and footwork are rusty as shit. Other than that, I was very impressed. I wish he'd take the driving to the rim down a notch tomorrow.

Yeah, the 'smoothness' of his layups seem a bit off too but good to see his reflex is still sharp when he went for that putback of his own miss.

I want him to continue driving to the basket with EXTREME PREJUDICE so he will get used to it and get his rhythm down when going to the hole while the defense still isn't tight because it's the preseason.

Agreed, it's encouraging to see that kind of fearlessness taking the ball to the basket.

Derrick Rose out against Washington with left knee soreness. This is terrible news. I have a bad feeling this kid is gonna be another 'what if he was healthy' guy like Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill.

Derrick Rose will not need an MRI on his left knee, according to executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson.

"We know there’s nothing structurally to be worried about. It’s just a little soreness," Paxson said. He added that the team is being "ultra conservative" with Rose, so there's no need to totally panic. Rose isn't going to play Saturday, but hopefully he'll be able to give it a go on Wednesday to alleviate most concerns about his left knee.

And yet we thought he was healthy enough for the playoffs...

It's not the kind of thing you want to hear, but I don't think we should jump the gun on declaring him a "What If?" just because they're being careful in regards to games that are ultimately meaningless. He's looked pretty good so far, albeit a bit rusty as one would expect.

this expected soreness is something that could have been over and done with already. part of the rehab is playing. it's a shame he has to use the preseason and probably early part of the regular season to see how knee will react to playing full speed

He seemed to be in a very good shape in the win against Detroit, scoring 22 points in 22 minutes.

Kind of annoyed that Thibs takes Derrick Rose out at times he should probably stay in the game. Then he leaves him on the bench so long that he loses his rhythm. I've noticed that watching them play the Knicks tonight.

I guess he's still shaking off the rust. He hasn't shot the ball well compared to the preseason, though he did come up with the gamewinner against the Knicks.

As usual the defense is fine but not impressed with us offensively. Seems we took a step back even from last year. Guess that's the price of letting Belinelli and Nate Robinson go. They were a huge part of the Bulls offense last year. As for Rose, I think it is a matter of leaving him out on the floor a little longer allowing him to find his rhythm. He looks wild at times but seems to settle down and find his game the longer he stays in.

It's early days and they're still getting Rose back in rhythm, so hopefully that'll pick up over the next few games as he gets back into the swing of things and his minutes increase. For the moment, it was nice to see him come through in the clutch despite a poor night shooting the ball.

Awesome. Even more impressive with two players covering him, no wonder Kobe likes his killer instinct.

Maybe Thibs got an order from Paxson (Foreman lol no) to limit Rose's minutes early on.

They probably are playing it safe. So be it, as they say it's a marathon, not a sprint. No red flags so far in terms of his health, either.

Very disappointing loss to the Sixers, but then they do seem destined to overachieve their way to 82-0 and a clean sweep through to the championship this year. In all seriousness though, there's no way they should've let that lead slip. After his impressive showing in the pre-season, Rose now seems completely out of sync. Early days though...right?

Ah well, 79 more to go.

Yeah. Seems like Carter-Williams outplayed Rose in crunch time tonight. Surprising, shocking. I really didn't see this one coming.

What happened to preseason D-Rose?
To lose those kind of games must hurt badly. I expect anything less than a W next game.

Tough night for the Bulls... I reckon they should experiment some post plays like those times in the 3rd quarter where they post up Deng since Rose running the offense stagnates everything so far...
