That error message indicates that you may not be. So long as your Windows username has Administrator access - if you're the only user, it should do - you can right click any icon and select "Run as Administrator". Give that a try, see if that works.

It means you're doing something wrong. Check all values and make sure they fit the parameters. I use excel for roster editing because it's the most stable software to use for database editing (in my opinion), so you might want to consider using that.

how can i edit rosters with excel?

Easy; just open the .dbf file with Excel and edit the values. Works on PCs and Macs.

You will need to familiarise yourself with the different columns and their values though. That's what the DBF Editing Guides in our Wiki are for.

Just started using this program, I really like the simple interface. Makes navigating around rather easy for me. However, I wanted to ask if it were possible to edit a player's age? I mean, I see that you can change it directly from their DOB in the editor. I'm curious if it could be implemented into the game where you merely "click" the number next to age and from there change. Might just be my laziness though, I do like this program!

Nope. The game calculates age according to the year of birth, hence the only solution to correct the age at the beginning of a new Dynasty game is to give everyone incorrect years of birth, five years earlier than in reality.

Alright, I was editing my Dynasty rosters with this program. So I have to add 24 years to everyone since the 25th roster is so far ahead. My Dynasty rosters ended I think in 2031, so 2031 - 2007 = 24. Thanks for the reply.

Portraits not working ?
i created a player and i wanted to add portrait for the player ,so,
i downloaded portraits workshop ( beta ) ..

its giving error dialogue - Run-time error , ActiveX component cannot create object .

im using windows 7 - 64 bit .

In the Adjust & Settings tab, select the appropriate installation path for NBA Live 08. That's all I had to do.

I think sir ayiep should add the delete in this latest live editor...just like in version 2.2...

You should be able to open up any save file. Just be careful when editing a Dynasty game and be sure to have a backup, just in case something goes wrong.

Seriously though, it's pretty self-explanatory. You use it to edit rosters (as well as Dynasty/Season/Playoffs saves), in particular things that cannot be edited from within the game.

I tried to use it for my dynasty ..and it worked at first because it traded the players that i want but when i played my dynasty it somehow crashes when i go to the assistant section to train my players..why is that???
