Larry Sanders out with Sprained Wrist



Larry Sanders has badly sprained his right wrist. The injury occurred in the 2nd quarter in a Bucks loss to the Heat. Sanders was fouled while rebounding a defensive board, and crashed to the ground. He used his hand to break his fall and Chris Andersen fell on top of it. Sanders is expected to be out for approximately 2 weeks. John Henson is expected to slide to the center spot. Henson has been having a breakout season this year. He has regularly grabbed some double doubles. Henson and Sanders were developing a great understanding together, and were a large part of the Bucks good run this season. Ersan Ilyasova will most likely start at power forward in Henson's place, with Stephen Jackson taking the small forward spot.

NBA Trade Rumors

Kobe and Gasol unhappy in LA



The Lakers stand at 3-16 and bottom of the West. Having traded away Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard last year, they barely made the playoffs. Howard bolted for the Houston Rockets this offseason. Coupled with the terrible tenure of Coach Mike D'Antoni, the Lakers are bottom dwellers this season. Chris Kaman, Wes Johnson, Nick Young and Jordan Farmar has not been enough to compete nightly. Gasol and Bryants contracts expire this season. Bryant has asked to be traded before, and almost wound up with the Pistons, this time around he simply doesnt have to resign next year. But Bryant walking away from the Lakers seems unthinkable.

LeBron and Carmelo may opt out



Carmelo Anthony admitted “my window is closing” and that he’s “trying to bring a championship to New York ASAP.”
But the clock is ticking on Anthony’s career as well as his time in New York. The All-Star forward can become a free agent on July 1, and he will almost certainly opt out of his contract because it makes financial sense. The Knicks can offer Anthony the most money but the Los Angeles Lakers will be players in the free-agent market next summer and there has already been talk of Anthony joining Kobe Bryant, and even Anthony and LeBron James joining forces in the purple and gold.

According to Sam Amico, LeBron James is planning to opt out of his current contract with the Miami Heat after this season and will choose between re-signing with the Heat or going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the Knicks a distant 3rd. According to Amico, LeBron enjoys the recruiting process so much that he would likely opt out just for the process. LeBron can't sign a new deal until July of 2014. James took less than the maximum NBA contract to sign with the Heat after The Decision in 2010 and will make a little bit more than $19 million this season. His contract will increase to $20.59 million in 2014-15 and $22.1 million in 2015-16.

Milwaukee Bucks sign Glenn 'Big Dog' Robinson as player development coach.



The Bucks today announced the signing of Big Dog as player development coach. The deal is expected to be a 3 year deal. Full details have not been disclosed yet. Speculation as to who Robinson will focus his work on is already boiling over. Giannis Antetokounmpo this years draft pick seems to be the most likely candidate. Although inside sources are not ruling out a trade being made for a small forward with a skill-set even more similar to Big Dog. Even more interesting rumors are the possibility that the Bucks could be ditching the Christmas color scheme in favor of the purple and green from the 90's. This color change has been spotted in several Bucks photoshoots with free agent and draft pick signings this season. The purple and green Bucks logo appears in the background, rather than the green and red one. This change could not take place officially until next season, but look out for some purple and green retros on hardwood classic nights. Here's a reminder of those uniforms...

Jackson tears Achilles during rehab, out for season.



Having strained his achilles tendon last week, Jackson had missed the last game. He took part in a 5 on 5 scrimmage today, and while jumping for a rebound, went down in pain. Torn Achilles tendon and out for the season. A similar injury to Kobe Bryant last season, but I doubt Jackson has as quick a recovery as Bryant. Jackson decided against the advice of the teams doctors, to rest his achilles for one more week before rehab. " I needed to get back on the court, the team needed me". Jackson wont be able to help the team out now. Jackson is said to be inconsolable at the moment. The Bucks will be expected to waive Jackson tomorrow. Although Jackson is keen to hang around and help out as a de-facto coach. "I aint gonna bail on these guys. Its the least I can do for the team, the guys, the organisation".

Derrick Williams is heading to Milwaukee

The Minnesota Timberwolves stand at 6-15 and 2nd last in the West. Flip Saunders has just been hired as GM this offseason, and is instantly under pressure. He had to make a move to improve his bench. The Bucks standing at 13-9, 5th in the East, and are performing above expectations. Do they stick or move? Flip Saunders seen some unwanted but solid bench players on a tough eastern conference team, and decided he wants them. Gary Neal, Ekpe Udoh and Rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo will give the T Wolves some strong bench depth. The Bucks give up all that bench depth for a player who may or may not live up to his potential. Derrick Williams has struggled to find his role with the Wolves, Playing PF and SF, and mostly off the bench, he has struggled to beat out Kevin Love, Corey Brewer and Shabazz Muhammed for a starting spot. Maybe a change of scenery is whats needed. The Bucks also gave up a 2014 2nd round draft pick. If this pans out for the Bucks they have an extremely athletic front court in Williams, Henson and Sanders. Defense and Dunks, we could see Lob City Light in Milwaukee.

Bucks Sign Michael Redd



With the trade of Gary Neal in the Derrick Williams deal, the Bucks had a spot to fill at the 2 guard. OJ Mayo is having a stellar season so far, so a solid vet to give him some spot minutes of the bench was needed. So who better to sign up than ex Bucks legend, Michael Redd. Redd signed a 1 yr vet deal, with a team option for a 2nd year. Redd who was unattached so far this season is relishing the chance to head back to Milwaukee and pull on the number 22 uniform again. " I'm delighted to be a Buck once again. This is where it all began for me in the NBA, and I'm happy to join such a competitive squad this season. The loss of Gary Neal has created a great opportunity for me. I want to use all my veteran savvy to help solidify the bench squad. The bench is a vital component to a winning team."
