Good to see you doing the RL trades, I will also do that. The Mavericks trade is decent, whilst the Celtics deliver a headscratcher here. Maybe Thomas still has some potential? I don't know, IRL he is one of the worst and most overpaid players in the NBA right now.

Thomas is athletic with good speed and dunking and therefore a beast in 2K games. Plus he has a decent jumper (in 2K).

So this is what Luke Zeller did to me in the last game against PHX:

phpBB [video]

I love how he kicks the ball after this somewhat aggressive but still white-men looking dunk.

8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 block, 3/4 FG (with Scola, Frye, O'Neal out)

Cheers man, I chose to leave out some that doesn't make sense in my virtual reality (like the JJ Redick trade, no way Orlando was gonna trade an all star in Ayon for Beno Udrih lol)
As Martti said, Thomas is always a beast in 2K so it wasn't that bad. Giving up Bass for him is still bogus though :facepalm2:

Still regrettably a big bust IRL...I'm just glad he's out of Chi-town

Great month, many wins and only some close losses. Noah is putting together a heck of a season, but you are also lucky that none of your starters has missed a game so far (unbelievable for the RL Bulls).

Yeah it's crazy, I actually think if it wasn't for half the roster being injured the whole time IRL we would've done as well as I am doing here
Noah's been amazing, that near 14 rpg and 3-5 offensive ones has won a lot of games for me (Y)

Yeah perfect example of PG dominance in 2K, James Harden being hurt for most of the season doesn't hurt his numbers either. He's got one of the highest possession and usage rates in the league and also a hefty amount of turnovers though so all's normal still I guess

Actually Carmelo won it with 24.3 in my association, Harden had 24.1 I think, had it been in the thirties or even the very high 20s, I'd have to agree.

Monthly Recap: February 2013
Part Three: Race to the MVP
Image
Image
With the way LeBron's been dominating, the MVP award is likely to be his again

Race to the MVP: Midseason Awards Edition
By Steve Brooks, NBA.com
Posted Feb 28 2013 11:38PM

With the 2012-13 NBA season crossing the midway mark, it is time to hand out the unofficial and nonexistent midseason awards to honor the top performers of the first half of the season.

Most Valuable Player
• THE WINNER: LeBron James, Miami
RUNNER-UP: Kobe Bryant, L.A Lakers
While this is still arguably up for grabs and could easily change in the final two months of the season, there is no question as of now that the reigning MVP LeBron James is poised to take home his fourth MVP award. The Heat have by far the best record in the league and it’s really hard to see someone else yanking the Maurice Podolff Trophy from LeBron’s grasp.

Rookie of the Year
• THE WINNER: Damian Lillard, Portland
RUNNER-UP: Dion Waiters, Cleveland
A no brainer, with Lillard leading all rookies in assists per game and is second in scoring amongst rooks. The Blazers never wavered that the Weber State guard would come in and immediately solidify them at the game's most important position today and they were definitely correct. Lillard is quickly becoming Portland’s most valuable player and looks to be a star for years to come.

Coach of the Year
• THE WINNER: Erik Spoelstra, Miami
RUNNER-UP: Tom Thibodeau, Chicago
As ever, COTY is the hardest award to winnow. There are so many deserving candidates, so many coaches who do excellent work yet will never get a sniff of the hardware. Take Thibodeau, for example. His bench walks away and gets replaced with next to nothing, and his MVP has yet to play this season, and yet the Bulls are still up there with the league’s best. However, my pick will still go to the Heat’s Erik Spoelstra, who, with the Heat’s dominating record alone should win it. Miami has an amazing 7.5 game lead on the second-place Bulls in the Eastern Conference and has 5 more wins than anybody in the league while remaining as the only team to not have loss more than 20 games (11 losses thus far). That’s impressive.

Defensive Player of the Year
• THE WINNER: Gustavo Ayon, Orlando
RUNNER-UP: Dwight Howard, L.A Lakers
If I said this at the beginning of the season, I would’ve been ridiculed and probably sent packing by my boss, along with a recommendation to see a shrink; but as the season progressed, it became less and less ridiculous to note that sophomore Gustavo Ayon has probably been the best defensive player in the league so far this season. Recently played in his first All Star game, the undrafted Mexican center is 4th in the league in steals and 13th in blocks. He’s also a decent rebounder, ranking 15th with a rebounding rate of 15.1%.

Most Improved Player
• THE WINNER: Gustavo Ayon, Orlando
RUNNER-UP: Jeremy Lin, Houston
As mentioned above, Gustavo Ayon has virtually turned from an undrafted benchwarmer signed by the New Orleans Hornets, to a beast on the defensive end and a decent offensive player so far for the Orlando Magic in their post-Howard era. From his rookie season, Ayon has improved his points average by 10 ppg, added 3 more rebounds per game, and put on an extra steal and block for a solid 15-8-1-2-1 line. He’s also improved both his field goal percentage and his free throws by a full 6% each.

Sixth Man of the Year
• THE WINNER: Taj Gibson, Chicago
RUNNER-UP: Jarrett Jack, Golden State
The Bulls staple since Tom Thibodeau arrived in Chicago has been defense on day one, and that is exactly what Taj Gibson does. Most sixth men are often asked to come in and be the microwave sparkplug off the bench, to provide the scoring punch; Gibson does the opposite, he comes in to clash the boards, block shots, and clean up missed shots with his putbacks. Currently in his fourth season, the former USC Trojan is averaging career highs in rebounds, assists, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage backing up Carlos Boozer.

All NBA First Team
Guards: Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul
Forwards: LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony
Center: Joakim Noah

Parker shatters record as Spurs win 9th straight
Mar 4, 2013 10:56 PM EST

      Image

The San Antonio Spurs recorded their 9th straight win last night with a
126-92 thumping of the Pistons behind the perfect game of Tony Parker.

In 34 minutes, Parker shot a perfect 22 for 22 from the field, including a three
pointer, and 7 for 7 from the charity stripe as he racked up 52 points and 8 assists
in the victory. The 52 points is just 3 shy of Parker’s career high, and easily surpasses
everybody else in the record books for the highest individual scoring output without
missing a single field goal or free throw.

Parker is just the third player in NBA history to record more than 30 points in a perfect
shooting game. The short list includes Charles Barkley’s 31 point effort in 1989 and
Gary Payton’s 32 in 1995.

Parker’s 22 field goals made also ties him with the Thunder’s Russell Westbrook for
most field goals anybody has made so far this season in a single game. Westbrook
holds this season’s record for most points scored in a game so far with 53 points.

The Spurs, now with a 39-22 record, are sitting in the third spot, just ½ game away
from the Clippers at #2 and 1 game behind the West-leading Lakers.

Bulls end Miami Heat winning streak at 16
Game Story | Box Score | Team Stats | Player of the Game

Image
Despite Lebron’s efforts, the Heat’s winning streak ended tonight in Chicago

Chicago, IL -- With most of their focus on beating the San Antonio Spurs' ongoing 19 game winning streak, the Miami Heat might have forgotten who their real opponent was this evening.

It cost them the streak.

Taking advantage of the absence of Dwyane Wade, who continues to miss time with a sprained wrist, the Chicago Bulls hustled and muscled their way to a 88-78 victory over the visiting Miami Heat, who came into the United Center with a 16 game winning streak and a league-best record of 59-11.

The Bulls, obviously without Derrick Rose, got off to a sloppy start in the first quarter. LeBron scored 7 straight unanswered points to start the game, and Miami led by as many as 11. However, thanks to Joakim Noah's efforts on the offensive glass (3 in the first quarter alone), Chicago was able to finish the quarter strong with a 7-2 run and close the gap to 6 points.

The Bulls bigs punished Miami down low, led by Carlos Boozer (19 points, 11 rebounds), and Joakim Noah (11 points, 14 rebounds), and Taj Gibson (15 points, 10 rebounds) off the bench, Chicago finally took their first lead of the game with 1:07 left in the second quarter, and their 55 to 34 advantage on the glass (15-2 offensive rebounds) ultimately proved to be too much for James and the Heat.

LeBron James led the way for Miami with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks, but he found himself swarmed with 2-3 defenders in the absence of Wade, and coughed up the ball 3 times. In addition, outside of Mario Chalmers (12 points, 4 assists), James did not receive a lot of help as both Ray Allen (7 points, 2-10 FG) and Chris Bosh (4 points, 10 rebounds, 2-7 FG) struggled against the stifling Chicago defense.

"It was a nice run" James said, "They played a helluva game and deserved the win. It's a shame about the streak but we pretty much got the best record in the league wrapped up so we are good with that"

San Antonio (49-11) now stands as the only team in the NBA who has not lost in the month of march, while the Bulls improve to 46-24, and will look to make it 6 in a row when they visit the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

Kings Fire Keith Smart
Mar 7, 2013 2:10 PM EST

      Image

Keith Smart has been fired as head coach
of the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings, coming off a 22-44 lockout shortened season,
are currently 24-39 and are poised to hit the lottery yet
again as the postseason drought looks to continue for
the 7th straight season.

Sacramento has not had a .500 record since the 2005-06
season, they are 44-78 under Smart’s tenure.

Mel Booth has been named interim head coach.

Lin Out For Remainder of Regular Season
Mar 15, 2013 12:50 PM EST

      Image

Rockets’ point guard Jeremy Lin will miss the
remainder of the season due to a broken left ankle that
will require surgery.

Lin will have surgery within the next few days and is
expected to miss up to 8 weeks of action.

Signed with the Rockets after his breakout “Linsanity”
period with the Knicks in 2012, Lin had been leading the
Rockets with a league-fifth-best 25.7 points per game
average alongside 8 assists and 4.2 rebounds on 47.4%
shooting from the field.

Houston, however, are near the bottom of the Western
Conference standings and barring a miracle run will miss
the playoffs for the 4th straight season.

Bobcats Fire Mike Dunlap
Mar 20, 2013 11:20 AM EST

      Image

Mike Dunlap has been fired as head coach of
the Charlotte Bobcats.

Dunlap was in his first season with the Bobcats after
previously serving as an assistant coach at St. John’s.

Under Dunlap’s guidance, the Bobcats currently hold a
record of 26-42.

Willard Lane has been named Dunlap’s replacement.

Byron Scott Dismissed as Cavaliers’ Coach
Mar 22, 2013 1:52 PM EST

      Image

The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired Byron Scott
after three seasons as the head coach.

The Cavaliers have a league-worst record of 19-49.

Scott had a 59-157 with Cleveland as the franchise rebuilt
following the departure of LeBron James.

Scott took the job before James made his decision to sign
with the Heat, Tom Izzo was the other leading candidate for
the job, but he decided to remain at Michigan State.

Johnnie Woolridge will take over as the interim head coach.

Spurs Streak Is Over At 20
Mar 31, 2013 9:52 PM EST

      Image

For the first time since early February, the San Antonio Spurs
found themselves on the wrong side of the boxscores, as their 20 game
winning streak was snapped in Miami.

The Miami Heat, who had their 16 game winning streak snapped by the
Chicago Bulls a few nights ago, empathically stomped over the Spurs
despite still being without Dwyane Wade, as they take home the 112-98
victory and improve to clinch the league-best record at 60-13 behind
the 26 point performance from LeBron James.

Beginning with an overtime victory against the Chicago Bulls on February
11th, San Antonio spurred their way to the top of the Western Conference
Standings riding the back of one Tony Parker, who had 23 points and
6 assists in the loss against the Heat.

The Spurs, while coming up short against the 2008 Rockets’ 22 game
winning streak, looks poised heading into the postseason as the number
one seed of the West at 50-23.

The New Orleans Hornets made franchise history Sunday
evening, at the expense of the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers as they
scored a franchise record 142 points in their 142-95 victory over the Cavs.

Cleveland has lost 16th straight games, and recently fired Byron Scott head
coach of three seasons.

the 25-49 Hornets looked to break the previous record of 141 points throughout
the second half after a 42-18 first quarter.

After going 25-39 as the interim head coach of the New Orleans Hornets, former Assistant
GM Percy Barber has been replaced by Mike Dunlap, who will take over the head
coaching position.

Dunlap was recently fired by the Charlotte Bobcats last month, after leading Charlotte to a
then 26-42 record.

Barber, who replaced Monty Williams 10 games into the season, is expected to return to the
front office under GM Dell Demps.

Boozer out with Strained Abdomen

Bulls forward Carlos Boozer has been diagnosed with a lower abdominal strain and
will at least miss the remaining 9 games of the regular season.

Boozer suffered the injury in the Bulls’ 108-94 overtime victory over the Washington Wizards.
MRI reports reveal what team officials are calling a minor strain.

Chicago has already clinched the Division and a playoff berth, and this could only be a
precautionary measure to ensure Boozer’s health as the playoffs approach.

In 73 games this season, Boozer has averages of 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game,
shooting just under 50% from the field at .495.

It took a heroic effort from Alonzo Gee and a buzzer beater from Kyrie Irving, but
the Cleveland Cavaliers finally found themselves on the right end of the scoreboard for the
first time since the 24th of February, as they took home a 117-116 victory over
the visiting Detroit Pistons to snap their 21 game losing streak.

Gee led the way with 25 points and 12 rebounds while Irving dropped 24, including
the game winner as time expired.

“It’s been tough, but it’s nice to finally get a win” said Irving, “Guys hung in there
and we believed, man.”

The Cavs are a league worst 20-58.
