Thanks, bro! I really devoted a LOT of time into this. Thanks for the appreciation. Peace out!

Really, dude? Woooow. That's essentially the one thing I need to make this mod look, uh, good (yeah, sort of). I'm sending you some names later on, when I stumble upon black armed cf's as I meddle with the roster. 'Till then, thanks a lot!

Sure, sure. I'll take care of that.

UPDATE: I got a poll up, which will run for three days. You guys decide whether you want another update of the roster or you'll wait for the final version itself.
Okay, people, better start voting!
Sun Apr 07, 2013 10:35 pm
What will include updated DEMO if you decide to do that and when will you release final version?
Sun Apr 07, 2013 10:49 pm
The first one has 50 updated players, and the updated one adds around a hundred more of 'em. There's still gonna be a LOT of inconsistencies on numbers, rotations, and all those other things, but more players add to the experience (I think, hehe). Maybe the final one's gonna be released a little before May? I hope so.
Mon Apr 08, 2013 1:41 am
coool concept, look forward to the finalized version, haven't downloaded the roster but from what I see in the screenshots you posted.....
Ersan Ilyasova starting instead of Vin Baker at Bucks PF position ?? really ??
have you ever seen Vin play for the Bucks ? if you did, you wouldn't put Ersan ahead of him

hell even Glenn Robinson deserves that spot way more than Ersan.... I know Glenn played a SF but he played a bit of PF as well..... these two guys were beastly for the Bucks when they played
and Alonzo Gee when you got few other choices that are all time Cavs greats that should be starters way ahead of Gee, Ron Harper, Craig Ehlo, even Wesley Person..... and yea I agree with what the other guy posted, Big Z should be starting at Center as well, he's probably Cleveland's most beloved player since they decided they have a blood feud with James
Mon Apr 08, 2013 10:02 am
Yeah, about that.

I haven't worked on the Bucks' roster quite yet, but the updated demo does have Glenn Robinson in it. Hopefully, on the final version, everything's gonna be settled. And addessing that long-time issue with the big Z: I haven't worked on him yet, though I think he's not gonna start at center, no thanks to a little someone called Brad Daugherty. Haha. I'm so sorry about that.

POLL RESULT: 4 of 7 said No, so I'm not releasing anything as of the moment. Hope it's good for all.
UPDATE: I've been thinking about one thing, and how it can be implemented in this project. Guys like
Larvae and
lethal have told me about some players not being in teams where they stood out. If that's a bit too hard to understand, think of it this way: my roster has Joe Johnson in Boston. Given a slight knack of common sense, well,
shouldn't he be in Atlanta? I've been giving that argument some thought, and how conditions could be settled for it to be done.
This is the system I use in making the rosters and assigning players:
- Code:
PICKING PLAYERS
Players are picked according to an all-time rank from B-R, updated as of 10 Jan. 2013.
Should players not appear on this list, they are to be picked as per these categories:
1. Retired numbers (regardless of draft status)
2. Expansion draft picks (regardless of first teams)
3. Non-expansion draft picks
ASSIGNING PLAYERS
I. Retired Players
Arranged according to priority, retired players are assigned as per these categories:
1. Retired players w/ retired numbers (regardless of expansion draft picks)
2. Retired players from expansion drafts (regardless of first teams)
3. Retired players w/o retired numbers
II. Non-retired Players
Arranged according to priority, non-retired players are assigned as per these categories:
1. Active players from expansion drafts (regardless of first teams)
2. All other players from their first teams
Any thoughts? I really need help with this one.

Well , in my opinion ..
Some guys like Joe Johnson should be part of the team he was remembered .. Like in Atlanta , i did'nt even know he was in boston

But that's just my opinion ..
Oh , and for the Retired players .. i think you should do like the player with the most years in a team (like Steve Nash to Suns , i think) ..

Gonna wait for this project , i hope this helped a little

Yeah, that's the concept we're working on, but the question is this: how do we decide where? What I'm thinking is after I'm finished with the initial setup of the roster, some players who were placed on their first teams (like Joe Johnson), not including rookies, will have special transfers based on where they had their "star" status, or where they spent most time. This, however, will slightly modify the concept that all of the data processed in this roster has been handled statistically. That means Joe goes to Atlanta, Chauncey and Rip go to Detroit, Sheed goes to Portland, among other guys.
Another idea I'm thinking is basing the team assignment of these players upon where a given player had his best statistical season, based on position. It kinda goes like point guards are based on assists, swingmen on points, and backcourt guys on rebounds. What do you think?
Sat Apr 13, 2013 11:55 pm
Sooo, I've decided to release a demo anyway.

I remember telling a friend about my roster and how I'll be releasing an update after a few days. And besides, the time is too long for all of you to wait for the first complete release. So, it's up and running (right here:
NBA Forever). Enjoy!
EDIT: I just figured something out:

It turns out that Ilgauskas
does start at center. Haha, another failed prediction.

I like the idea of the team assignment of players that have their best statistical season ..
I think that might do it
Just wondering if guys like Shaq (best season in ORL , 2-time Champ in LA , 1-time Champ MiA) will be on multiple teams ?

Glad you like it, bro.

I'll be doing what you said in the final release... though not exactly as you said. I'll turn everyone into 25-year-olds as to provide full potential for all players, with no one retiring right away. Hope you're into it too!

Whatever happens, we'll implement it after the first full release (v1.0). Oh, btw, Shaq was a three-time champion in LA.

And about multiple versions of players: it won't happen. It's kinda awkward if it did, don't you think?

That's awesome.

It's so awesome to play with Shaq at C, Wilt PF, Kobe SF, Jerry West SG and Magic PG. So much defense in 5,4,3,2 positions and offense almost from everybody..
p.s. I noticed a lot..A LOT.. of players with black hands.

Unfortunately, Wilt is in the Golden State Warriors as directed by the mechanics of this roster. However, maybe when the final release is out, you can make a few moves in Association to get that dominant dude, if you know what I mean.

And about the black arms: I have some resources with
DukeW74 and
RussianKobe that will fix them. I'll be releasing a black arm fix sometime after the final release, as to improve overall quality.

Thanks for the reactions again, bro, Cheers!

That's what I'm going to do. Wilt to Lakers.. It's not like I don't have trade assets.

I'm waiting for my boy Petrović to be included so I can see for myself if he can actually score 40 on MJ as I've been told he did that.
