A$AP-Pookie, Yeah it was more of a loyalty thing, big fan of J.J. and would like to keep him around. Yeah the record is rough but I guess it is part of rebuilding, just hope it doesn't last too long. I like the makeup of the team so I would hope it will be 3 seasons max till we compete again.

Valor, Thats true, perhaps I need to increase his shooting tendencies. I think I draw a fair few plays up for him though!

buzzy, Thanks mate. Yeah, Aaron was pretty good to use on offense, probably better than he is IRL IMO. But yeah Harris is great finding him very easy to use and contributes all over the floor. Can't understate the importance of that extra 2014 first either.

So you get rid of Afflalo instead of Redick. Good idea since Redick is the better offensive player and somewhat a go-to-option for you.

With Afflalo gone I see full tanking has begun. I've never seen Harris play, but hopefully he has the upside you mentioned that will pay off for you in the future.

Good trades! Your roster will be definitely become flexible next season. Any FAs coming into your mind atm?

hova-, Yeah Redick is pretty effective, both in Sim and Played games. Afflalo was actually probably a bit more effective to play with, but he kept getting injured so wasn't as big a loss. Plus I was happy to swap the two of them if it meant me getting another future first.

Durant35, Thanks. Redick as an expiring does make me more flexible, but I intend to try resign him, although he wants to test the market so I hope I don't get priced out of it. That being said if I intend for him to be my starting SG for the foreseeable future I will be willing to pay him a decent amount (within reason).
Other than that I don't really have any FA plans. 2014 has a bit more to offer so will try maintain flexibility for then.


I have simmed the first season now. Just fixing up the draft class before going into the offseason. Could take a wee while, not too sure.

SuperHueyNewton, Draft will be coming soon. I need to sort out the draft class first though. My problem is that I had a draft class that I loaded when I started the dynasty, now that I have been playing for awhile there are more out there which include more up to date players, ie Oladipo etc.

So what I need to do is locate all the rookies in my association and overwrite them with the new ones. Could be quite time consuming but worth it.

I'm glad you kept Redick. I've been a big fan of his since college. Figured you wouldn't be happy real life Magic traded him.

Yeap I couldn't bring myself to go through with the trade! His work ethic should be used as an example for all players, especially young players as they enter the league.

I wasn't even happy the the Magic traded J.J. and I'm a Bobcat fan first, my little brother is the Magic fan. It kinda pisses me off when a team trades away one of their most loyal players for pieces that might not ever see the floor.

SuperHueyNewton, Yeap, I can understand why they traded him, but if anyone deserves to retire a Magician it is JJ. I hope they bring him back one day. His style of play should age gracefully so he should still be useful when the Magic make their next title run in a few years

Yeah I had said from the start they should trade AA, of course that is assuming JJ would want to return this offseason. I am hoping to bring him back in the game.

Update this weekend I feel. Have finally got the means to update the draft class in my Dynasty, also conveniently falls in line with the list of draft entrants so will have a level of certainty to the next two drafts.

Just need to edit in all the draftees and then we will be flying

I dont know, at number four you should be able to get someone big and save the guaranteed money of another lottery pick, wbhich you could use for luring FAs. Just my two cents.

Durant35, Sorry not too sure what you mean? Trading to get more value I guess. I don't see the top 4 options being that much better than those in the remaining top 10, if I can get someone to bite on a top for in exchange for a lower pick plus either another first round or even taking one of my bad contracts I will likely take that. The player I am leaning towards isn't even top 5 projected in my association, is IRL though

Valor, Yup, that is the plan. I think there some good players to be had in the draft, just not near the top. Trade down and save some salary.

hova-, Yeah that is something to consider. But right now I am not looking at much in FA this year and would rather just gather more assets. The drop off in rookie contracts is quite steep so would probably prefer to pay 10-15 and 20-25 than top 4. I guess the real coup would be trade down to about 10 and include the contract of Harrington, BBD et al. Win Win.

EDIT: Also apologies for the horrendous spelling and grammar in that article, wrote it at work, then chucked into my report template late last night with no proof reading. Rather lazy of me.
