Congrats on making it this far. I'm impressed you were able to keep it rolling, but I guess the story took an identity of it's own. Perko :bowdown2:

Definitely understandable and I guess this means we can induct this into the Hall of Fame very soon. :) A reboot would certainly be welcome and we can always move the thread back to the main section if need be but that's your call to make, should you end up considering it somewhere down the line. As it stands, 17 seasons is quite an achievement and this has been one of the best story threads we've ever had here.

Looking forward to seeing things go out on a high. (Y)

Damn Kenny, your dynasty was the only reason why I came back to the NLSC. Shame it'll be gone, we can still contact via Twitter though

Not to take anything away from this Dynasty, which I'd absolutely hold up as one of the best examples of a story thread that we've ever seen and a prime reason to visit the stories section, but it's a little troubling to hear that that's the only thing about the site that's appealing to you. In addition to some of the other good stories we've got going, I feel we have quite a bit of good stuff going on around the site.

I haven't had the time to check it my man, I've been busy with leagues and school. However, my interest in 2k is peaking, and I'm loving Phil's association. It's just that I haven't had time to check out all the associations, which I'll do right now actually

Sad to see this era come to an end but I know this farewell tour will be up to your high standards. One of, if not the best dynasty story we've ever seen.

Oh... this was the greatest ever dynasty for NBA Live series I've seen.

Congratulations on this astonishing job.

Sad to see this one end, but it had to happen eventually :P I'm speechless with all the work you've done here man, you were one of my big inspirations this last couple of years. Props to you.

While 25 would have been epic, 17 is still incredible(Y) They key is to enjoy it and if 2K13 is far more fun, then it is clear what you should be doing :D

Axel. wrote:As I've said before, this story was the reason I got into writing my own stories, and though it had to come to an end at some point, it doesn't make it any less sad to hear it. :(

It's a shame you couldn't do the full 25 seasons, but still, 17 is definitely a feat in and of itself. (Y) This is without a doubt an automatic HOF induction when it's done. Looking forward to your final updates. :)

I do like claiming you as my protege, and I really like your stories as well. I've always had a weakness for the Texas teams. I'm more of a Spurs fan than a Rockets fan, but I've liked them since Hakeem. I still watch highlights of him every now and then and wonder how the fuck he did those moves.

Hopefully the final updates won't be too far away. I know there's definitely one more fan vote I want to do before this is over as well.

Phil89 wrote::applaud:

17 seasons is epic. I never even had the patience to sim that many, let alone play more than half of them. (I once tried to sim 25 seasons to see what happened, but gave up lol)

I totally understand what you mean about 2k13. It was hard for me to finish playing the last few games of my Thunder dynasty after getting 2k13.

I'm looking forward to see how this ends. It will be fitting if you can end this with yet another ring. Good luck :)

I might end up making a seperate save of the dynasty and sim out til 25, just to see what it looks like. I've been thinking it over and I'm leaning towards the idea of continuing this universe in a 2k game. Essentially, I want to skip it ahead a few seasons and use the real players that came into the league in the following seasons after I started this one. So guys like John Wall, Kenneth Faried, Gordon Hayward, Anthony Davis and so on are in my next story.

I actually haven't played Live 10 since buying 2k13. I'm glad I played ahead because there could have been the possibility of this going unresolved, which I wouldn't have liked.

The X wrote:Congrats on making it this far. I'm impressed you were able to keep it rolling, but I guess the story took an identity of it's own. Perko :bowdown2:

It was a lot of fun molding Perko into my interpretation of the "perfect player". I wanted to keep it going for 25, but after 2k13, it seemed like that would start to be an obligation, rather than something I wanted to do.

As I mentioned, I'd love to do a reboot, but now I'm leaning towards doing it in a 2k game. I might pick it up for nostalgia reasons, but I dare say that I've done my dash with NBA Live 10.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Andrew, but I guess this was resolved. I probably need to check out more associations myself, but I've been spending most of my time doing let's plays and ocassionally, university work

Thanks Lamrock. I hope the ending of this can do the thread justice. Hopefully afterwards I can be a more active reader of dynasties as well.

Thanks for the kind words Murat. I hope we see a few more Live stories over the years. Although, it does appear that 2k has monopolised the market now.

Thanks Mavs4Life. If I figure out reditor, I'd like to transfer this to my PC. I think there could be a number of features I could utilise if I did that.

Your Spurs association was outstanding. I still think you're the best story writer when it comes to layout and how aesthetically pleasing your threads are. Kind of the opposite to what my thread's like (ie: absolutely unpleasing aesthetically  ), but I'm glad to have influenced your stories in some way :)

That's what it came down to in the end. Where 2k13 ultimately kicks Live 10's ass is with the post play. It's funny how something little like that can make all the difference.

NBA Playoffs 2026: Conference Finals

Game 1: T-Mac Scorches Blazers

Image

The first game of the Western Conference Finals was a blowout, with Denver winning 113-86 against Portland. With the exception of game four against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Taylor MacKenzie has had a relatively lukewarm playoffs campaign. But he was unstoppable in this one, scoring a game-high 37. Another player who came good in this game was Stan Griffiths, who added 20, while the consistent Mario Carlos scored 19.

For the Blazers, Wyatt Walsh was the top scorer with 19. Fred Gibson was the most impressive for the losing team, scoring 18 and grabbing 12 rebounds. Charles Thompson scored 16.

Game 2: Nuggets Continue Home Streak

The Nuggets remained unbeaten in Denver after their 103-79 win against the Blazers. Taylor MacKenzie starred once again in the Mile High City, scoring 27 points. He was well complemented by the resurgent Dennis Anderson, who added 21. Stan Griffiths was one rebound away from a double-double (16 points, 9 rebounds), while Mario Carlos scored 13.

Wyatt Walsh top scored for Portland with 26. Fred Gibson continued his outstanding form in the paint, with 24 points and 15 rebounds, while Bertrand Hofmann scored 14.

Game 3: Nuggets Blossom in Rose Garden

Denver is one win away from a shot at their 10th title, after a 96-80 win in Portland. Taylor MacKenzie continued his hot form with 28 points. Both Mario Carlos and Julian Chandler added 18 each. One of the main talking points from the game was Borislav Perko. Even though he didn't produce one of his famous triple-doubles, his all-round performance of 8 points, 9 rebounds, 15 assists, 7 blocks and 1 steal was good enough to win him the Performer of the Game.

Charles Thompson was the top scorer for Portland, with 21 points. Fred Gibson registered his third double-double of the series (16 points, 10 rebounds), but his effectiveness was limited by Borislav Perko. Wyatt Walsh (15) and Dilbert Roy (14) also contributed, but were apart of a losing cause once again.

The Blazers will have another home game left, where they'll attempt to stay in the series.

Game 4: MacKenzie Carries Nuggets to the Finals

Image

Despite a courageous last-ditch by the Blazers, the Denver Nuggets will continue on to the NBA Finals. The Nuggets struggled on offense, with only two players registering double figures. But a brilliant 40 points by Taylor MacKenzie was enough to seal the deal in the end. Mario Carlos (14) and Vince MacMahon (9) both provided scoring off the bench.

While Taylor MacKenzie had the points, Fred Gibson was the one that kept the Blazers in the competition. He dominated in the paint, scoring 25 points and grabbing 19 rebounds. Charles Thompson (17), Wyatt Walsh (12) and Bertrand Hofmann (11) all chipped in to give the Nuggets a scare.

Even though there were some awkward moments in the last quarter, the series never looked in doubt for the Denver Nuggets. They'll go into the NBA Finals as hot favourites, as they're guaranteed to play a sub-500 team from the East.

----------

DEN@POR

DEN: 90 (MacKenzie 40, Carlos 14, MacMahon 9)
POR: 88 (Gibson 25, Thompson 17, Walsh 12)

Rebounds

DEN: Griffiths 11
POR: Gibson 19

Assists

That's the final series I was able to get with the uploaded images.

Great to see you back in the Finals. Four wins away from a fitting conclusion. :)

Re: Denver Nuggets - The Next Level [The Farewell Tour]

Looks like the Blazers only turned up in game 4. But it was too little, too late. I'm predicting another ring as the team from the east is going to be either the 7th or 8th seed, right? :)

If you recreate this universe on 2k13, will you be adding the bald heads and porno moustaches? :P

Re: Denver Nuggets - The Next Level [The Farewell Tour]

Sun Mar 10, 2013 5:09 pm

Save for the last game, you just completely owned them. More of the same is expected out of you guys in the Finals as well. T-Mac still owns. (Y)

Phil89 wrote:If you recreate this universe on 2k13, will you be adding the bald heads and porno moustaches?

If not, at least Taylor MacKenzie should retain his trademark porno mustache.

Sucks that this came to an end. I don't come to this site that often but when I do I always check into this thread. I even use some of your players in my draft classes when I play 2K and will continue to do so on 2K14 next gen.

PSA: TNL Will Be Back

It's been a lengthy hiatus for this thread. The main issue was the fact that I lost the book I recorded all my box scores and statistics in. But after searching through one of the various boxes stored in my room, I found the book that has the conclusion of TNL. Over the next couple of weeks, when my university schedule clears up, I will post the 2026 NBA Finals series, along with a few retrospective posts if time allows and if there are enough people interested.

I'm not entirely sure what the quality is going to be like with the last few posts. I might not be able to give detailed reports on what happened in the games, due to the lengthy hiatus, but the most important thing, in my opinion, is that this dynasty gets an ending.

Thank you all for your enthusiasm throughout this thread.
