Re: PREVIEW: Gigabyte's NBA Forever Roster

So,
Shaq in Magic and Harden in Thunder
Lin in Knicks
Steve Francis (ROCKETS)
Vince Carter Raptors
Chris Webber (SAC)
The big 5 in Pistons
Steve Nash and MIchael Finley (Mavs)
Iverson In Philly

^ You know C-Webb was drafted by the Warriors, right? And then played for the Bullets/WIzards before ever going to the Kings? Guy played five seasons before going to Sacramento.

I'm also not sure guys like Jeremy Lin are going to make an all-time Knicks team that's had some very good Point Guards throughout the years.

lethal, Actually, Nash would still got to the Suns since he played his first years with Phoenix.

This gonna be a mouthful. :o Alright. :)

Shaq won't be in Orlando, since the Lakers will retire his number by April. And yup, Harden will be in OKC. Should Jeremy Lin make it in this roster, he'll be in the Warriors' roster, though. That's his first team. :) And oh yes, VC will be playing with the Raptors. :D

C-Webb, however, will indeed be with the Kings, but not because it's his first team. They retired his #4, so he goes there. :) Don't know who the Pistons' Big Five are, but I think they'll be in there given the right circumstances. ;) Nash will be in Phoenix; that's for sure. But Michael Finley doesn't have a cf (even in NLSC's universal cf list) so he won't be in this roster (for now, maybe). And yes, yo, AI will be with the Sixers. :D

I also considered expansion draft picks and retired numbers in making this roster; if any of you guys are confused, please check the first post. Thanks and cheers! :D

Hi Gigaman, my man! :D

How do u doing on your project? I hope you use your wisdom to choose the right guys for the job, btw i came here to give some tips and an advises to improve your team selections to perfection, we do not need another Hawk'ndRolls Ultimate Base Roster for NBA 2K13, we need the new "NBA-GFR" (Gigabyte's Forever Roster).

So here's the resaerch part (homework): http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/fe ... lineup/chi - ESPN did the job, you don't have to agree at all, but it's a good font.

Second: http://espn.go.com/espn/greatestteam/?teamId=5556469 (ESPN again, but here you can find all teams, and options for every position, to guards to centers - from East to West)

Third: http://www.nba.com/history/awards_mvp.html (Alltime MVP List - a little list, but with great conclusions, your guys gotta be in their prime basketball shapes of their lifes! Remember always to choose wisely...)

Fourth: http://www.nba.com/history/finals/champions.html (Alltime NBA Champions - What else you need? Champions, guys that worked their lifes for the ultimate gold, study these material, and the other sources i gave previously to you) (Y)

Finally, you gotta choose the best courts for these guys to perform, maybe a little pool to do this will not be bad at all, don't you think??? And last, but not least, contact the Master Jersey, my close friend Iamlliard. No one dress your guys better then this man.

Hope u don't get tired or bored on the way, your project is marvelous and i hope you finish them perfectly sooner then tomorrow! :D :applaud:

PM me anytime Giga,
Take care,
Nib :D

Hey, Nib. :) Thanks a lot. I'm doing great here; I'm just finishing off the list of players per team. I don't think my work should be compared to that of Hawk23's Ultimate Base Roster, but I do like that "NBA-GFR" name thingy. ;) Thanks for all the support, man! (Y)

Thanks for all your references; I could use some of those info, especially from NBA.com itself. I think we'll be able to make the most comprehensive all-time roster with just enough time and information. Don't worry, bro; I'll be working on this with all my heart. ;)

You know what. I really should think that players should go to where their prime were. Its weird for me to see JJ and Billups on the Celtics, although i know they were their first teams. But im just saying. I won't complain anymore if you're gonna stick with this system.
But still looking forward to this. (Y)

Weird for me too. But we don't have a process to, like, formulate in exact logic where players had their primes. We only have retired numbers, but most players don't have theirs' retired yet. But if you want, you could always move the players around once the roster is released. ;) Freedom, ma friend. :D

Oh okay, but moving players around would be time consuming. To know when was the player's prime is to check his best year statistically and what team he played for on that year.

this all sounds great Gig, and thank for spending time tp do it, im not sure if i missed it ir not but, i use meds roster and a lot of s s waiting for his upcoming 0.9b great roster joining forces with king to make sure his jerseys are compatible with his roster, will your roster be compatible with that ? u said there would be some black arm overwriting , well in meds roster, that was already taking care of, so thats why im wondering ? its the same reason i haven't jumped in for the mods of 98 etc, they overwrite.

The thing is, we don't know the prime teams, for, like, Anthony Davis. Maybe he'll get traded to, let's say, the Sixers, and he'll have his prime there. It's pretty lopsided for a lot of teams if we just base the player picking to their primes. It was like in an example I illustrated somewhere up there. The Lakers had a lot of centers in their primes playing for them, and it would be unfair for those teams that had them first or had their numbers retired. I hope you get the point. :)

I asked Med a couple of months ago if it would be alright for him for me to use his slots in the universal cf list, and he said it's free for anyone to use. I also told Larvae that his portrait will be fully compatible with my roster. And those black arm fixes most of us have all come from one souce - DukeW74. And the new jersey slots in my roster have already been unlocked. :cheeky:

So, will my roster be compatible with that? Yeah. ;)

lethal, Like what he said, players go to their first team unless the player's jersey number is retired on that team.
So CP3 goes to the Hornets.

I've just finished "drafting" players using BR's Jan. 10 all-time rank, and I'm not even halfway through the Clippers' roster. :D But things are going great for the Cavs; they've got Kyrie, LeBron, and the "big Z" Medevenx was asking for. ;)

Guys! I got a problem with Denver's roster. :( Dikembe Mutombo and Kiki Vandeweghe both wore #55 with the Nuggets. And both of them don't have any alternate numbers that can be used (even in college). What should I do? :D To whom should I give the 55 and what should I assign to the other one who doesn't get it? :D
