Playing Online

What would you guys recommend for a good type of connection to play? I never tried the Online feature yet and I'm on 56k. Not sure if it was gonna be laggy (like be all slow and crap).

I would recommend Cable or ADSL for the best online performance. 56k will do the job but it will probably be a bit laggy and slow, only thing to do is give it a try and see how you go. Turn down all your details to low and turn most of the sounds off that will help a bit and try and play with people who live closer to you.

Also, a lot of people who create games put "DSL or Cable only" in the game title. With 56k, it stutters a lot, there's noticeable lag, and you get Please wait - waiting for remote a lot. On DSL and cable, it's usually smooth unless you're playing with someone with a slower connection. Free throws are a little hard to make still, but with practice you get better.

a few suggestions

1. Go to www.dslreports.com , they have free tools to test and tweak your connection.

2. Also make sure your isp doesn't have some crappy firewall software running on their end.

3. try to ping your friend to see if it connects

4. If you have Win 2000 or Xp and you're using a 56k modem you may want to pick up another modem and see if you ISP supports multiplexing. Thats when you use two 56k modems at once to increase your speed.

I hope this helps.
