Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

Got the game at midnight, installed it..
Went to Create a Player to make myself, then throw myself in Association on the Knicks..
..but can't edit shoes?
There's a tab called GEAR AND SHOES, but when I scroll through the list and to the very bottom, there's nothing about shoes at all and I'm stuck with the generics. Tried editing other players shoes and I get the same problem..no option to change shoes whatsoever. Also tried "assigning/equipping" shoes via NikeID..nothin.
Currently uninstalling and reinstalling..wish me luck.
Sidebar..the presentation is god awful. GOLD SHIT EVERYWHERE.

Reinstalled. Same problem.
The only mode in which I can edit shoes is Create A Legend.
Am I missing something? From the main menu I'm going to Options > Manage Roster > Edit Player > Gear and Shoes and all the way at the bottom where the shoe selection SHOULD be are the socks options.
Anyone else able to duplicate this?

Note that the orange slider that shows you how far down the list you are is all the way at the bottom.
This blows. 2k put tons of effort into stuff that doesn't matter (Because the Create a Shoe material textures look SO good) -_- and then skimps on something like this?

Probably a silly mistake. Don't worry. We'll get a patch around March!
Tue Oct 02, 2012 8:37 pm
Leftos, are you having the same problem?
Tue Oct 02, 2012 8:38 pm
poupiammusic, won't have my copy anytime soon, unless I find a store around the neighborhood willing to break the street date of October 5 here in Greece. I'm gathering addresses, we'll see.

Hahah bummer. Thanks anyways. It's 3:39AM in California where I am.
Heading to sleep. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow someone's got a fix.

Huge problem. I just don't know about 2K sometimes, and it's such a small detail compared to the big picture. If I had the resources.......

Actually someone on Operation Sports forum has a potential solution.....x PC
"The shoe creator is available for PC. Just checked it out. Pretty slick.
Also, you can't assign people shoes from the Edit Player menu. You have to go into Features (I think), My Shoes (will have a huge list of shoes), and then scroll to the shoe that you want, click on it, and click "Assign". You can assign it to whatever player you want to put it on. I think you can put it on a mass amount of players as well, as you can check as many people as you want from as many teams as you want too.
Stinks that you can't do it from within the menu like you could in years past, but this way is at least workable. Not sure about how it effects the colorways of the shoes."

Tried that. Ends up giving the player I assign the shoe a generic model, and that's not just for CAP, that's for any player.

It's a shame you can't do it within the player edit screen. Only certain shoes change with the colorways. I replaced both generic shoes (leaving the Chucks), but the only problem is the RGB texture seems to be a little funky and the shoe doesn't look that great in-game, especially away shoes. Below is just me replacing Lebron's shoe, which is "shoe_123_00".

WTF? This is borderline comical.
Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:49 am
I went to assign shoes to my created player and it worked! Pictures coming.
Wed Oct 03, 2012 6:03 am
Nice! Can you try Also to assign them to real players?
Wed Oct 03, 2012 6:17 am
Yes guys, you can assign them just like I posted on Operationsports. Playing with Paul George in the Foamposites now instead of those generics. You just can't do it in the Edit Player Menus. You have to do it through the Features, My Shoes option
Wed Oct 03, 2012 6:20 am
Like he says above, yes you can...I gave big baby some older Lebrons
Wed Oct 03, 2012 6:39 am
How do you edit home and away colors?
Wed Oct 03, 2012 6:40 am
I've not figured that out yet either.
