Man what do you guys say about the josh smith to the lakers rumors?
with a third or fourth team that could really happen :o

Re: Lakers Thread

Sat Aug 25, 2012 4:46 am

I didn't know such rumors after the Howard trade. I rather have Gasol than Smith.

Re: Lakers Thread

so u have to read this:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1301633-lakers-trade-rumors-los-angeles-should-re-open-pau-gasol-for-josh-smith-talks i just wanna hear what u think about it because its not always about now josh makes them younger he a great defender like howard and its a big wish of them to play together and he is offensively gifted as well so if that trade works do see that as a good trade or a bad one including thinking to the lakers' future guys

Re: Lakers Thread

I don't even read bleacherreport articles, I personally think their articles doesn't make sense. Their not going to trade Pau for Josh especially now that their going to implement Princeton offense. The Lakers doesn't even need to worry about the future, they are the Lakers they don't rebuild they just reload

The Lakers are retiring Shaq's number 34 and Jamaal Wilkes' number 52 next season. They will also build a statue of Kareem outside Staples Center.

All well-deserved honours. (Y)

Dwight is going to work out with Kareem as soon as he's got medical clearance.
Let's seen if he can add to his game. Bynum developed well with Kareems help, but was also much younger and inexperienced.
Howard also tweeted that he looks forward to be with the Lakers "for years". Concerning his most recent struggles with loyalty towards a team I'm not overly excited before he actually signs an extension.

Abdul-Jabbar added, "#DwightHoward thankful to impart my knowledge to a highly-motivated, gifted, athlete with integrity and focus on the prize - a championship!"

lol. Not with that clusterfuck he pulled in Orlando.

Metta World Peace wants the Lakers to try to go 73-9, because ‘you try to snatch records before you leave this earth’

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ba ... --nba.html

"We definitely want to beat the Bulls record and go 73-9, that's definitely something that I want to do. Whoever is out there at the beginning of the season then we gotta get it. It's as simple as that. We just have to go get it. [Host: So that Bulls record is something you're thinking about?] No question. You try to snatch records before you leave this earth. You gotta try to do a lot of great things so it's definitely a goal. With Dwight Howard, [Steve] Nash, Kobe [Bryant], myself, Pau [Gasol] and then [Antawn] Jamison and a lot of great additions, it's something that's possible."

Bullshit. No way in hell they break 70 mark.

I hope he worked on his game, then.

Re: Lakers Thread

Thu Sep 20, 2012 2:11 pm

No problem with setting the bar high, but let's not get carried away until they reach the All-Star break with only three or four losses. It's far easier said than done and though a few teams in the past decade came respectably close, they still ultimately fell short.

73-9? Metta must have missed a session or two with his psychiatrist. Coz that's just crazy!

That's right, Dwight should practice post move against 6'7 assistant coach Darvin Ham who's been known in his career to play good defense...

Re: Lakers Thread

Thu Sep 27, 2012 7:58 pm

Darvin Ham will forever be known as the person who proved that the dunk contest was rigged.

I'm a Laker fan and I'm not sure they can beat that record, even with their roster right now. Their bench is not really that good.

Re: Lakers Thread

Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:21 pm

The bench sucks (compared to Spurs, OKC, Heat and Celtics). Aging Kobe is less effective as "aging" Jordan was. Lakers will not be able to play defense like the 1995–96 Bulls who had a heck of a (perimeter) defense.
So, no Lakers won't beat the 1995–96 Bulls' record of 72 wins...

Gotta love Metta World Peace. Good for him to be confident and to hype the team up. Bad for him to put everybody on the spot with the most unrealistic expectation.

And the Lakers will get a court makeover. I hope they add a 17th star in the center logo soon. :cheeky:
