Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

i think the answer to that "Miller Time" issue is giving him a good amount of minutes at the court, like 25 minutes or more... But just simply not having him at the Starting Five... You'll be reliable to History, but at the same time will end our common wish of having Miller comming up strong to the game and playing most of the time.

Buck was created !!!

We probably still missing Celtics and Jazz.

IronMike323, please send me rest of teams, then I may create free agent who is not in rosters and balanced teams rating.

Peeple one question - do you want Open Night Roster 1987/1988, or PlayOff Night Roster in 1987/1988 ??

Open NIght Roster is roster actually on 1st november 1987.

PlyOff Night Roster - roster actually before PlayOff Game.

i need playoff rosters :cheeky: Ill send you the teams in a pack, TMM or ROS? I think TMM is better, no?

Wed Aug 29, 2012 11:39 am

Yep TMM is better.

So, we're going with Ralph the Warrior rather than Ralph the Rocket eh? :)

I don't think it really matters which way round the rosters are done as long as there is that consistency with them (Y)

Good job on the Bucks and Pacers Sylvian - I want to get in and play them right away :D

Perth in Western Australia :) . Got hooked on NBA in late 70s and used to catch bus into town and read all box scores in American papers by spending days in the embassy  . Later on I fed my NBA addiction by paying outrageous amounts to have USA Today flown in once a week and I'd throw all but the basketball page away :) .

Didn't get to see any NBA games til mid 80s when saw vhs tapes of Lakers - Celtics Finals and have been trying to collect old games wheneva I can now. :)

That's why I'm so keen on your Mod - It has all of the players that I really identify with so it will be sooooo much better for me to use than some of the other stuff out there. :)

One of my hobbies (sad I know) has been to build on paper composite teams of the 80s where I take the 3rd best season for a player (so u don't get someone who has just 1 good season) and make up "teams of decade". :)

I did something similar in NBA Live 07 and 08 but they were very primitive compared to this :)

Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

:) I picked up on your interest in the 80s and all things basketball :)

You've certainly thrown yourself into a number of mod projects and that Alcindor/Jabbbar you've done and is being used by the ABA project is a classic :)

Yeah, USA Today was the only way I could find out anything about NBA back in the pre-internet days and it used to cost me about $5 which back then could have bought you a decent meal in a reasonable restaurant
I'd get all the stats I could and make up new player card for the 1978 Avalon-Hill board game that I had that occupied most of my free time before (and after) I had kids

So excited about this release Mike - it's going to be the best :D . So is Sunday - Friday some sort of allowing for the international date line? Stop teasing your eager public here :)

I think kangaroo is off the menu - I try not to eat any animals that are on the Australian Coat of Arms, so emus are safe too

Lol :D well i meant either sunday or friday as release, cuz saturday im going to my aunts wedding part :D yay!!! Its in flushing. :D Hmmm.. So what about fish and chips? (or is that british lol) :D

Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:32 am

Fish and chips is traditionally British, but we have many British habits here but fish and chip shop is closed so I'm whipping up a chicken parmagana and might have it with a little pasta and salad :)

Your wedding sounds good - it's nice when you can go along to a function and just enjoy it with no pressure :) My weekend will be watching 9 live AFL games on tv during the day and about 5 Premier League games at night - unless I'm distracted by your Mod :)

AFL? Australian football league :D ?

Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:39 am

Yep - it's a fantastic game, but can be difficult to follow at first if you don't know it. :) It's fast, skillful and rugged and always a great spectacle - plus my team are going well this year and there's only 1 week until the finals start :) .

You should try to see a game some time if you haven't already, but don't try to understand the rules because the umpires obviously don't

Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:43 am

lol is it like football football like Eli Manning? or is it like soccer but its called football over there?

Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:49 am

Neither really, its hard to describe but it has some elements of rugby - its quite like gaelic football but that's no help to you either

If ever you see it on some late-night channel you should have a look. It's fast, there are no real breaks in play and no padding and helmets like your football and lots of kicking of an oval shaped ball on an oval field much bigger than your football fields :)

Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:53 am

hmm... Late-night channels, are too late, cant watch it lol :D I guess i have to find it on youtube :cheeky: JIMMY KIMMEL

Re: 1987-1988 Mod (Clippers Previews Page 9)

Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:59 am

It will definitely be on Utube :)

I'm planning to look through all the CFs around at mo and see if I can find some that are similar to some of the 80s players and better than the generic faces that we have at the moment. It seems to me that some of the current players must look similar to some of our friends from the past - it's worth a look anyway
