2K vows "Biggest Announcement in 2K Sports history" coming

For me personally, I don't really care about soundtrack. I just consider it background noise in the menus. Only song that really sticks in my head from any NBA game was Fort Minor's "Remember The Game" from NBA Live '06. That was a good song.

And yet another let-down from 2K. Never been a fan of Jay-Z... much less the entire 2K soundtrack. Music is always off in my game.

Yeah, I am very well aware of how the association with Jay Z helps their cause. You talk as if you are going to be receiving a big share of those profits yourself that Jay Z is going to bring in. What most of us fans were hoping for was something that relates directly to our game-play experience. Not just some hand picked music by a dude and Presentation tweaks.

I totally agree with you. Stuff about how awesome Jay-Z is should only be relevant when being the first thing mentioned in a music product like an album or whatever. It's a frickin' basketball game! It should be about GAMEPLAY first! Why not assure us fans first of all about how they're correcting all the things from 2k11 that they messed up in 2k12, like 1v1 to 4v4 Blacktop mode, the ability to actually drive by your CPU opponent one-on-one if your relevant ratings are much superior than your defender, the speed issue (though I think this is the only thing already mentioned so far), better shot-blocking animation, the weird contact animation system, and a few other things. I could care less if Jay-Z or Katy Perry is in the game since I can disable any song or mute the music volume altogether. Actually this being the case, I would even prefer Katy Perry to Jay-Z in this game, because tits.

I'm a huge Jay-Z fan hence the Blueprint (favorite album) in my username, so this is big for me. To get to my point it's all about Marketing your product to sell. I mean if Jay does an interview saying how hot NBA2k13 people are going to be lined up at stores trying to get a copy. Alot of you dudes knock Jay because your into country, rock or what not, but this is a good business move for 2K. Combine a big name like Jay-Z with anything and it's going to sell like hot cakes...Man didn't have 11 number one albums and successful business for no reason.

lol this is funny as hell to me. you think people are going to line up for jay-z? they will buy this game cause its the best basketball game available. if nba live is a better game than jay-z or not 2k is going to disappoint

Jay-Z doesn't do crap for the game.

Once you Play this game for more than 3 weeks, you'll get sick of that soundtrack and wished there was a way to mute it.

I play 2K12 on mute or with pandora because i cant stand listening to the repetitive music and commentary

Nah,its probably going to be just another disappointment.I mean having Jay-z doing the songs is ok but that is far from "big announcement".

I bet the announcement is that they'll cancel this year's game.

After the Jay Z announcement, I'm sceptical that it'll be something that'll appease hardcore fans, but I'm intrigued nevertheless.

For what it's worth, I'd say that actually stands as a bigger (or at least a more exciting) announcement than Jay Z, at least for us hardcore fans.

Anything related to My Player, Create a Legend or Association will be the only thing that will feel huge to me. I have barely even played the 15 Legend games of last year.

A proper functioning online for PC would be awesome as well
