Barkley Confirmed?
Pip Missing?
From Kotaku -
http://kotaku.com/5934875/michael-jorda ... n-nba-2k13Jason Argent, the 2K Sports vice president of marketing, said that bringing in hip-hop superstar and entrepreneur Jay-Z to be the game's executive producer both drove the necessity for bringing the Dream Team to the game, and the discussions with Barkley to license his appearance in it.
He will not, however, appear on any other team in the game. When asked if that was because Barkley only agreed to an appearance for USA Basketball, or if the game was not returning or adding to its "NBA's Greatest" suite of classic games, Argent demurred. "We're going to talk a bit more about that as we start making more announcements," Argent said, "but Charles will just appear on that 1992 team."
2K Sports and Scottie Pippen, who appeared on several classic Chicago Bulls teams the past two years, could not come to an agreement on the use of his likeness in NBA 2K13.
"I think it's gonna be great," said Jordan, who expressed confidence that the Dream Team's players will be individually rated higher than their 2012 counterparts. "I knew that was going to be a debate, it is a debate, we'll never know. Granted, I think those guys are much more athletic than we were at that particular time, but I'd like to think we were much smarter. Honestly, I don't think we'd have as much problems with them as they would with us."
UPDATE (Aug 28): 2K and Scottie Pippen have agreed to a deal that will get him in the game along with the other 11 members of the '92 Dream Team after all.

Thats the "BIG" announcement?
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:06 am
Not just big, it's huge.
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:12 am
Seems like Scottie is not in the team.
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:16 am
Looks like they finally managed to get Barkley.
Is that really their "biggest announcement in 2K Sports history?" While it's cool for console users, with the fake bench players 2K has and the PC modding community's ability to patch almost everything in, this looks absolutely miserable to our side. Where the fuck is Pippen anyway?
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:17 am
nuhmete, we're long past the biggest announcement. That was Jay-Z. This is another "huge" announcement. And yeah, as a PC user, don't care.
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:18 am
No pip? What thats messed up. I wish 2k wud look into detail like ewings flattop fade larry birds short hair and malone having hair lol like the ubr
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:19 am
This is great..... USA uniforms and logos I assume will help with the international mods on console.
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:21 am
finally a good CF for Christian Laettner....i mean, where the freak is Scottie Pippen?!? do we have to unlock him with a code. what made him so special..
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:22 am
Lol no its day one dlc 2 help pippen out wit his financial problems lol
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:27 am
Maybe Pippen took the pic
but if Scottie isn't here...then the old Bulls team...isn't? (complete)
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:27 am
Ah sorry, I thought the "biggest" stuff was still not announced.
If they actually put the entire olympics as a game mode in there like on some later NBA Live titles it'd be nice, but I'm pretty sure they're just putting them up for quick play, which I could do myself in like an hour.
But I guess that's a whole different problem related with annual sports games... Games in other genres get graphic updates, bug fixes and patches as free updates while sports games are mostly the same thing with the roster update, bug fixes (which should be in free updates anyway), a few character animations/graphic makeup and woo, everyone buys the same thing again every year. Half-Life 2 got a free graphic engine overhaul last year, which was 8 years old then. How hard it is to update the rosters/fix bugs and release new games only when you have a new engine? I wouldn't mind paying default DLC price for updates too.
Everyone buys it for full price every year though, what am I talking about anyway. hah.

I knew it was coming with all the hype sorounding the Olympics, but come on... Huge disappointment

Oh man scotties not in it.. Just read the article but i bet next year we can make scottie on pc
Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:54 am
I wonder if that does mean no retro teams at all. No Retro Bulls this year for sure.
Thu Aug 16, 2012 2:12 am
a return to the decade teams wouldn't pain me at all, the retro thing was just demolished by UBR
Thu Aug 16, 2012 2:15 am
Whoah! I never noticed that Scottie was missing.. I hope 2K can finalized a deal with him before the game ships out in October.
Thu Aug 16, 2012 2:18 am
Wow, I was kinda excited for this, they finally got barkley on something, and then i read the details and see that Pippen is not there. Add one key guy and lose another key guy. #Buzzkill

Is this for real? Adding USA 2012 and USA 1992 is the HUGE thing? They did what we already had in nba 2k10, nba 2k11 in FIBA mods. And in FIBA 2k12 we have
USA 92
USA 94
USA 96
USA 2000
USA 2002
USA 2004
USA 2008
USA 2010
USA 2012
not talking about the rest of the retro teams.
The UBR has a xxx number of teams. What a shame 2k!
This is crazy. That's what the guy was talking about, it's happening

2K also announced they're making a car. It has no front right tire, but Jay Z drove the development.

Remember, this is primarily a console game, and the Dream Team haven't been in a game since '92 according to the Kotaku article. It is a pretty big deal, even if it doesn't seem it to us PC people.

That makes complete 100% sense regarding this announcement

OK, this is stupid now. Sticking to their current logic, just about everything has to be a "huge" announcement.
