I actually fucked something up. I'll take v0.4 down, fix some bugs, test it thoroughly, and then put it back again.

v0.4.0.1 released!

I've fixed various bugs from the v0.4 release.

EDIT: I thought I had created a bug-free roster with Roster Merge, but nope. I tried simulating a season and the Association seems to crash while simulating at random points. No idea what's causing this, really. I give up for tonight. I'll try to see if it's a repair gone wrong.

How do you open both rosters in Reditor to show them side by side like in the video? I opened UBRV24, then tried to open Alby's roster V6 (playoffs) and they didn't show up side by side at the top of the editor. I'm new to this and it confuses the hell outta me.

Pistol, as Roberto said in his post that he deleted for some reason, you need to have the proper license to open 2 rosters at the same time. You don't have to open them both, just do them one by one.

I purchased the re editor but I know now that it takes a bit of time to get key. But I assuming I dont need it to merge ubr and albys roster together. It would just make it easier.

But my question, Do I need to do whats mentioned in all 3 videos 1-3 to get current 2013 rosters? I know that ubr has new rookies and albys doesnt. But ive been trying for the last 2 hours(watched your last video first) and ended up with messed up rosters. Wrong portraits, players on old teams with new jerseys, etc....

I asked because all 3 videos, you click on different options with your program. On your first video you copied from albys to ubr and clicked options for pretty much everything. 2nd video was ubr to albys and click bio/contract. 3rd video was ubr to albys and clicked bios/status/appearance/contract.

So should I follow all 3 to get roster. or without license (waiting patiently) follow your other thread for leftos great guide for 2013

guess another quick q, should I use ubr without retro teams instead of regular ubr. I dont use the retro teams at all.

intruda, if you don't have the license, all you can edit is the Players tab, so you can't do the UBR to Albys tutorial, because that involves Teams, which you can't edit until you receive your key and enable the license. That's why you ended up with messed up rosters.

Until then, if you can't wait the 1 to 2 days it will take for Vlad to get you your license, you can put the Albys roster in From and the UBR in To in order to copy player information from Albys into UBR. The categories I recommend are:
- Skills
- Capabilities
- Tendencies
- Hot Spots
- Hot Zones
- Animations
- Gear

When you do get your license, you can follow the guide I've put up to get a 2012-13 roster using UBR and Albys (and Nick if you get the license which allows you to open Draft Classes as well).

EDIT: You could just use UBRv24 No Retro like you said after your edit. Only thing is, it uses the default 2K roster as a base, but you can always use the UBRv24 No Retro as the To roster and the Albys v6 as the From roster and copy over the categories I told you just above to get Albys edits in Jao's current only roster based on UBR. Jao built the roster using Roster Merge himself.

v0.4.0.2 released!

"Fix FAs" roster repair option now ignores D-League FAs instead of (incorrectly) making them non-FAs.

Note that I've just made a roster combining UBR + Albys + Nick and used all 3 repair options on it and the roster works fine even in Association. No glitched box scores, no crashes during simulation. I believe most of the problems are solved and that the tool is now stable and can produce good, working combined rosters (if you also repair them afterwards using the 3 repair options).

Your nickname should be jimmyjohns. Reply was super fast. Ultimately im looking for albys rosters with updated contracts/rookies/etc. I will try your edit and get back to you.

Another super noob question, where the hell do I donate to you guys at. Ive been leeching long enough.

intruda, if you're looking for Albys roster with added rookies, my edit should be good enough. I'll be recording a new video tutorial explaining EVERYTHING you can do with Roster Merge soon. UBR + Albys + Nick, UBR -> Albys, Albys -> UBR, Albys -> UBR No Retro, Roster Merge Repairs, everything.

Jao hasn't put up a donation link yet. HAWK23 has a donation link in the Ultimate Base Roster thread, and my donation link is in my signature, right below "Guides & Stories".

Thanks for all your kind words.

Actually i think you can get the rookies even without the proper license.. After you make the process with roster merge you can see them in your Roster with REditor, just you need to put them in FA using Reditor, and then assing them to their proper team ingame. I've just couldn't find a way to fix mixed up potraits thing

That refers to Hawk23 rookies..

Ive spent 3 hours messing with this and im still having issues. Ive reinstalled ubr file, and still getting messed up portraits and players without jerseys when looking at edit player, and a ton of duplicate players in fa pool when combine ubr and albys rosters files. Im guessing after trying davoors roster with his portraits, different player ids, are messing things up. Im going to do a clean reinstall from a backup. Sorry for super size picture

Can't help you if you don't give me exactly which rosters you're using in From and To, what categories you're selecting, and what Teams option, as well as if you're using REditor Free or have a specific license.

This is what has me spooked, Its too easy to screw things up, then you have to un-install and start over. Should be a easier way to do this. I appreciate you guys hard work in creating these rosters and tools, but most of us aren't computer programmers, I sure as hell know I'm not.

I give you step by step of what ive done so far.

1. Downloaded ubr v24 600mb file. Installed that. I can only assume that this installs correctly, seeing that 7zip doesnt let me choose location(My install is not located in C drive)
2. Downloaded ubr no retro ros file
3. Downloaded albys v6 roster file

Followed your latest tutorial and exported csv files from ubr no retro/albys v6. Opened in roster merge, clicked options in your previous post. albys from/ubr to

Just did it 1 more time, step by step with video, and still messed up roster.

Just getting into modding? This has nothing to do with the programs. This is all user error lol. Program didnt install davoors files, I did. Im re installing for clean slate, pretty sure it was something I added.

^^ I'm not a novice on the computer, just can't get the hang of where and how to save both rosters, and then retrieve them to put in the program. I've watched the videos for about 2 hours over and over, and I'm still befuddled.

I created 2 folders in my roster merge folder. 1 for albys and 1 for ubr. Export csv files to there correct folder. All files im creating are on my desktop for easy access. I saved my merged roster file in 2k saves folder though.

Pistol, even when things get THIS screwed up after using Roster Merge, do you know what the only thing you have to reinstall is? The roster. NOTHING ELSE. Not UBR (the whole 2 gigs of it), not NBA 2K12 (the whole 8 gigs of it), nothing else. Just the roster. Just a 2 MB roster. Just that. Roster Merge doesn't touch your portraits, your jerseys, you cyberfaces, doesn't touch ANY files other than the roster you tell it to touch. Even if that gets royally screwed up, just delete the roster and replace it with a backup. So simple. No need to uninstall and reinstall everything. No need to uninstall and reinstall ANYTHING.

intruda, 7-zip should allow you to choose location. What do you mean it doesn't allow you? Have you watched JaoSming's tutorial on how to install Ultimate Base Roster?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv1kWxZ-b8c

- If a player is in one team but the logo behind his portrait shows another team, you've accidentally checked the Status category as well (or are using an older buggy version of Roster Merge).
- If you're getting faulty portraits, you haven't installed the right portraits file. As in, you haven't installed UBR properly.

There's some issues in Jao's UBR No Retro roster that aren't Roster Merge related, just so you know, but I'll try to work with him to fix them in the following days. The problems are:
- No jersey in Edit Player for Free Agents.
- A Nene duplicate with some weird symbols in his name.

So whenever you use Jao's No Retro as the To roster, those problems will persist until we fix them and release a new No Retro in the following days. Again, nothing to do with Roster Merge.

UPDATE: I fixed those two issues in Jao's UBR No Retro roster and released v3.3. You can find it in his thread and the NLSC Downloads section.
And just let me say, once again, these two problems had nothing to do with Roster Merge. :P

Its the only file ive ever downloaded that extracts to its own location. Example 7zip, when I click extract with ubr file, the browse/save to window never pops up. But 2sec into that video link, I figured it out. Stop using winrar a long time ago.

Sometimes the simple things are always the answer. Want to smack myself lol. Winrar(right click/to ubr folder/ then copy over) was the answer.

Only other problem i have is all rookies are in the FA pool also. Hopefully last question, what am I doing wrong? I have:

I extract for fresh roster files with each try

stats
skills
capabilities
tendencies
hot spot
hot zones
animations
gear selected in roster merge
Teams I have current selected
No FA ive tried check/unchecked

When error page comes up, I select all 3 options and click repair.

Im using ALbys v6 in from and ubr no retro in To.

Using latest 4.0.2

it's for licensed bro... free version can only open 1 roster at a time.. but dont bother because you can open the other roster after exporting the 1st. for your information. :)

intruda, when copying from Albys to UBR, you don't want to select Current in Teams, because that makes RM replace UBR's team rosters (all the latest transfers, rookies, etc) with Albys (which is a playoff roster). So you end up having the older team rosters that Albys currently has in v6. You want to select the categories you picked EXCEPT Stats, and None in Teams if you're going to do Albys to UBR.

In any case...

Here's a brand new fully-detailed video tutorial covering the following 5 scenarios:
- Copy Albys Player Information to UBR (REditor Free) (0:56)
- Copy Albys Player Information to UBR No Retro (REditor Free) (6:15)
- Repair common roster problems (REditor Free) (7:50)
- Copy UBR Team Rosters, Rookies and Missing Players to Albys (REditor Player License) (16:13)
- Copy Nick's 2012 Draft Class Rookies to Combined UBR + Albys (REditor Developer License) (21:04)

Must be something wrong with your browser, because I just downloaded it fine. Rename the downloaded file to add a .7z extension and it should open fine.

My computer tech told me Google Chrome is the preferred browser he reccomends to all his customers. It's much more receptive than IE9.
