Maybe you are just that good a rebounder
The playoff race is tight as hell. The difference between 3rd place and 11th is practically non-existent.

Bradley Beal Named To All-Star Game
Second year guard to come off bench for the East

The 2014 All-Star teams have been released, and the Bobcats' shooting guard Bradley Beal was selected to the Eastern Conference All-Stars bench. Beal is averaging just under 17 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game. This marks the second consecutive year the Bobcats had an all-star (Bargnani last year) and third time in franchise history (Gerald Wallace the first in 2010).

I just want to take my talents to somewhere else.

Bargnani's stats are back down to earth this season. He's averaging something like 22/7 while Beal has 17/4/5 with a TS% in the sixties. I liken him to James Harden right now. Was surprised he made it, but much more surprised that Kobe didn't.

Charlotte goes 9-2 in February going into all-star break. Boasting a favorable schedule, Charlotte rocketed up the standings, losing just two games in February. It was also a big month for the franchise as Bradley Beal was named to his first all-star game. Cavaliers trade F Elton Brand to Thunder for C Cole Aldrich
The Thunder trade a prospect who wasn't working out to the Cavaliers for veteran Elton Brand. It makes perfect sense for both sides. Cleveland gets another young big, while OKC gets another big who can play.

76ers trade G Axel Gomez to Jazz for G/F Gordon Hayward
The Gordon Hayward era is over in Utah as the Jazz promote rookie Da'Vonte Hughes to starter and acquire another young point guard prospect in Gomez. Gomez came off the bench but made the most of his minutes in Philadelphia, and he'll get even less minutes on a team with Darren Collison and Devin Harris. Philadelphia sells high on Gomez and replaces Iguodala with Hayward as the starting 3.

Spurs trade G Manu Ginobili to Lakers for Jordan Hill, '14 2nd rounder
The big three era in San Antonio is completely over as Manu Ginobili is traded to the much hated Lakers for young back-up big Jordan Hill and a second round draft pick. San Antonio trades it's star of 12 years, signaling a full rebuild of the team. "It's weird to leave - especially for the Lakers, but it's good to be competing for a championship again", commented Ginobili on the trade.

Leo Lai had a big game, but this year's contest was unusually low scoring and came down to the final minute. Unfortunately, Spurs star and rookie of the year favorite Bradley Rice had an awful shooting night, and couldn't hit anything in the final minute, and the older Sophomores got the win. Golden State Warriors guard Leo Lai was awarded with the Rookie/Sophomore game MVP trophy.

The Rookie Challenge was unusually low scoring, and that tradition carried over to the all-star game, in which the West prevailed 91-88. Eric Gordon and Chris Paul were fitting co-MVP's, with the game in New Orleans. Paul was the Hornets' previous superstar until he was traded for Eric Gordon, the current face of the franchise. Ratings for this game were low, possibly due to the lack of Kobe Bryant, absent from the all-star team for the first time in 18 years.

We go out to play. We're a serious ballclub."

Stephen Curry was the team's all-star representative, but Lai leads the Warriors in scoring, and has officially replaced Monta Ellis. He may be a star in the making if he can work on his shot.

Gomez was coming along nicely in Utah as a backup guard and replacement for Louis Williams, but the Sixers were thin at the swingman positions and acquired Gordon Hayward. It is an unfortunate situation for Gomez, who goes to a team already with Darren Collison and Devin Harris in tow.

Duroy maintains his role as backup guard and continues his steady play for the Magic, who look to make the playoffs this year.

March 2014 In Review

Record: 40-32 (8-9) | 2nd in division, 4th in conference



March was not a kind month to the Bobcats. While an 8-9 clip isn't terrible and puts them in a great position to make the playoffs, what's more concerning is the loss of Bradley Beal for the season. Beal went down in Charlotte's loss to the Bucks with a strained back. The team is 4-2 so far in his absence, but the true test will come in April, when a challenging final 10 games will decide where they land in the playoff picture. Beal is out until at least the second round of the playoffs, but few expect Charlotte to make it that far without him.

In other news, the team waived Jamal Crawford, who was unhappy with his playing time. They then signed Dahntay Jones to the vet minimum through the year.
