Could be, but I'm sure that some problem would appear if you do that, because warmup texture is bigger in 2k12

Sorry to necro a thread, but this was never really answered properly. I tried just putting a 2k11 jersey file in the 2k12 folder and the shorts are inverted and the shape of the collar doesn't change from the 2k12 file. I've tried extracting dds files from the file with the mod tool and inserting them into the 2k12 file and the game crashes on the team selection screen. So, is there a tutorial to do this for a dummy like me? Would greatly appreciate it if somebody can throw something together, as there are a tonne of great retro jerseys in 2k11 mods that didn't make it in 12.

dont use 2k11 files in 2k12
collar shape is chosen by the roster
and all you need to do is import/export the textures from the 2k11 file to the 2k12 file with the mod tool. There are tutorials in the Tutorials section if you need help using the tool.

Okay, that helped a lot, thanks. Using the 3dm tool did the trick for the numbers/letters.

One last question, hopefully. How do you remove the shine from jerseys? I'm trying to convert a new jersey base to a retro jersey (Philly's default to their early 90s stars jerseys), is this possible or do I have to use a retro jersey as a base?

um, the shine can be controlled with alpha layers, or you could try the Miracle My Jersey tool
