How To Keep The Retired Players?

Postby SoF'nAwesome on Sun Apr 15, 2012 1:05 pm

I don't usually update rosters through the net or NLSC. But one time(long ago), I messed up some kit numbers, so I hit "Reset Roster". Then I found that all the new players are added(like Norris Cole) but the old players who retired are gone(Zydrunas Ilgauskas). Also, the Miami Heat "Back in Black" jersey only showed all white color.

From then, I read that certain jerseys are applicable with certain roster packages only. And that tempts me :D

So, what I wanted to know is that how to I keep the old retired players even after the new roster?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

use the free version of the REDitor to open the roster file, find the player in the database (like Brandon Roy)

change playertype to 4
change isFA to 1

go in game to free agents and add him to a team.
Opinions are my own.

Thanks again mate for your quick answer.

That Reditor seems a bit for the pros :D Also, was reading the comments at moddingway, most people got their system messed up which was funny to read lmfao. But I was wondering if there was a noob tut around for it anywhere?

Again, thanks for the help :)

no real tuts yet, just simple experimentation

keep backups of your files and mess around with the editor like I said. It shouldnt have any issues with how your system works, its just another program.
Opinions are my own.

Sorry for the late reply. For some reason, this site wasn't loading.

All righty. I will try out the Reditor. But at a later time, 'cause currently I don't have enough space to backup 8gb :P

Also mate, replied at your thread. Hope to get a feedback: http://www.nba-live.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=82370&p=1500441#

Uh...mate, I tried out Reditor. But it doesn't work for me.

I installed the latest version. But when I clicked on "Open", there are no editable files(Roster FIles) in the 2k12 folder :(

You'd reather search ROS files in the following folder:
%APPDATA%\2K Sports\NBA 2K12\Saves
