Harden: We're happy to get past the Lakers in 5
Speaking to the media following his team's demolition of the Lakers in game 5, Thunder shooting guard James Harden expressed his happiness at advancing.
"We're really happy to get to the next round" he said. "They [the Lakers] are a really tough team and I think we've done exceptionally well to beat them in 5."
"For us, it's just about taking it one game at a time. We all know what it takes to win a championship and we are determined to defend our title again."
Harden himself contributed a handy 12.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 3.o apg, 1.0 bpg and 1.2 spg against the Lakers. Just below his regular season averages.
"I'm happy that I contributed, but I feel that I can certainly raise my game a bit as we go deeper into the post-season and help the guys more."
Kobe's final game as a Laker?
At the age of 33 and with his huge contract expiring, Kobe Bryant may have just played his final game as a member of the Lakers.
Lakers' management has clearly shifted the focus of the team onto youth recently with the acquisitions of Brandon Jennings & DeMarcus Cousins.
They feel a new core of Bynum, Cousins and Jennings is the key to future success for them. They've already shifted out Pau Gasol this season.
Now it's time for Kobe to learn his fate. The veteran superstar won't have a shortage of offers though if the Lakers do decide not to re-sign him.
