Missing Rookies Tattoos Solved!

Postby anastasis16 on Mon Mar 19, 2012 4:51 pm

Attention: Leftos is still working on the updated version of Keep My Mod (Remove Mod Function). So, let's wait.

I think I've just found the solution to missing rookies tats by removing these files in the Online Data folder (downloads):

- rookie.cdf
- rookie
- rookie2.cdf
- rookie2

I tested it thru several games just to see if by removing the files will inflict the game (CTD) and I had none. Just remember, let the game finished updating the data first, then u can remove them. Otherwise, the folder will be missing.

YES, u have to do it every time... smh

..and one more, this is for OFFLINE mode.

Attention: Leftos is still working on the updated version of Keep My Mod (Remove Mod Function). So, let's wait.

Don't delete the files. U can test it yourself bro, just cut-paste the files out of the folder and u'll see the results. Try Isaiah Thomas for instance, if u have the version of him with tats of course and u'll see him with his tats.

As I said earlier, let the game finished downloading the Online Data first, then after u get in main menu or anywhere in the game, alt-tab back to the desktop and go to ur Online Data folder (downloads) to remove them, don't delete the files just take them out of the folder. If u don't do this u will lose all of the updates for the games, shoes, etc. Same thing when I want to play with Toronto Raptors floor made by the community here, I always get rid of the "f022.iff" and "f022_lo.iff" files first. Remember, play the game in OFFLINE mode after the game finished downloading the data.

You can use Keep My Mod for the same thing, which can automate keeping the mods for you, and can also show you how much more time the resync of Online Data needs to finish, as well as other stuff.

All the files you say "delete from that folder", you can tell Keep My Mod to keep modded. That way the game won't freak out and redownload everything, disabling the Online Data in the process. What you don't know is that the game does a pre-game check (as well as a check every 2 minutes in the menus) that checks whether the Online Data is proper or if a file's missing or corrupted. So the way you do it, the game will always notice the Online Data is corrupt before a game starts, and will disable all other updates, such as shoes, updated commentary, etc. You'll notice that by playing against Miami for example, LeBron and Wade will have white shoes instead of their updated ones.

What I recommend is for you to use Keep My Mod, and tell it to keep the rookie files modded, as well as any other files you want to keep modded.

The workaround you've posted does work in bringing the rookie tattoos back, but also loses all other Online Data updates in the process.

It's just 3 things. First time you run it, you click on Online Data Browser, select which files you want to keep modded. Then, before every match you click on Force Keep My Mods, and before you return to the menus after the match, you click on Restore Online Data Backup. That's it.

Yeah, that was my bad. There's no remove functionality yet in Keep My Mod, but solovoy has posted the instructions on how I should code it, so I shall get working on this soon.

yup! I think the tats show in old rosters because they most probably assigned different cf id number to the rookies. hence the rosters we have now uses the cf id's assigned by 2K.

Leftos is still working on "Remove Mod Function" for Keep My Mod; this should be the only best solution for the rookies tats problem. At first he thought 2K updated those files so Keep My Mod should do the job but apparently 2K hasn't and we can't apply the tool for it. So, wait for him to release the updated version for that and we can remove those rookie files.

Well.... how can we keep the rookie tats and the update too?
