You can try a different shadow mod if the one included by default is not to your liking. Won't take more than a few clicks. See the Global Editor thread for the tool and the different profiles (link in my sig).

Haven't got any 2K12 textures from Gory, I might get in contact with him later on.

For the assignments, visit the NBA 2K12 Tutorials subforum, there's a thread that has this year's Global IDs, among other things.

Would it be possible to release a version based on the patch? Or does this global perty much nulify the patch?

BobcatsThunderBulls, don't even know what the patch has to offer as far as the global goes, and if it's worth my trouble.

cyox, no idea really. No idea at all. Haven't heard of similar problems. You can still just grab 2.5 and apply any or all the updates yourself. The sweat patch is 3 dds files, and the shadow mod was applied with 2 clicks using the Global Editor (link in my sig).

2K12 looks even more realistic with this global and the settings that can be adjusted with the global mod tool. I'll try to post up some screenshots after I play/record my next game for YouTube.

Thanks Leftos!

I wouldn't mind trying it out. If tatlopuyo posts in the Research thread all the values he's changed, I'll be glad to add them to the editor. And then, when a good profile is up, I'll apply it to the global.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone.

Re: Superglobal Codename Moose v2.6.1 w/ SJ Shadow Mod 3

Postby Leftos on Sat Mar 10, 2012 7:24 pm

v2.6.1 released! Important information follows, don't ask me how to install the update before reading this.

Michaelvlutz49 has once again updated his progressive sweat to make the effect even more obvious and realistic, so I once again updated the superglobal. Due to the minor nature of the change, I've decided not to re-release the whole global and full pack, but rather just release a patch.

So, those of you who have already downloaded and installed 2.6, you can now download a 120KB patch and apply it to the global to get it up to 2.6.1. That saves you of about 10MB of downloading. Nice, huh?

To install it, extract all the files of the patch in the folder where you previously extracted the superglobal (either the game's installation directory or the JSGME subfolder) and run the patch_global.bat file. It will tell you when it's done.

If you decide that you don't like the new sweat effect, you'll find your 2.6 global backed up as global_old.iff.

Users who haven't downloaded 2.6 yet need to grab and install that one first before applying the patch. Applying it to previous versions of the superglobal won't work and may corrupt the global.

I have no idea why that's happening. They're both working for me, I just checked them right now.

Here's links for the files you can't get to, hopefully they'll work:
Patch 2.6.1 for 2.6: http://www.filedropper.com/superglobalc ... tch26to261
ESPN Experience: http://www.filedropper.com/superglobalc ... experience

EDIT: Yaowza. You edited your post before I could reply. You can import the additional files of network mods using the instructions in this tutorial:
viewtopic.php?p=1436369#p1436369
Just ignore the part about extracting, and go straight to importing.

Leftos, is this global based on the latest global that came with nba 2k12 patch? When I installed the patch my global was overwritten. Maybe steam did it simply because size wouldnt match the default one, but nonetheless I got my global rewritten.

As we've discussed before, the 1.0.1 patch came with a new global, that I have no idea about its changes whatsoever. When I tried using HxD to get the differences, it just crashed, so no help from there either. Maybe one of our more experienced diggers (like JaoSming) can take a look, see if they find anything worthwhile.

Right now, we've seen that pre-patch globals are completely compatible with the 1.0.1 patch, so worry not. And btw, yes, the compressed global.iff's filesize has changed, but when you uncompress it it hasn't. What that tells me is that changes have been made, but the files should be pretty much compatible, and no corruption has been mentioned yet.

Here you go:

This doesn't include the 2.6.1 patch, which you'll need to download separately.
